I seem to have a problem playing music on the cam for other to hear i use windows vist norton 360 antivirus and firewall i think some can hear my sound but others not also i get told that no one can hear the music but can hear the sounds in the room where i am.
anyone help me with this one?

dunno really ....sorry ....but I have to say that every time I see "norton antivirus" it`s coupled with "trouble" !

As SH doesn't have a Broadcasting Licence, isn't playing music via your cam against the AUP/Chat Room rules?

There is no mention in the site rules about playing music whilst on cam.

Infringing any copyright or other intellectual property belonging to any other person.

I think its more a case of common sense. If you happen to be playing music to enjoy yourself and it can be heard over your cam, its not a problem
If you are blatant in showing a porn movie over your cam then it isn't acceptable

That is why it specifically mentions playing videos over your cam in the Chatroom Rules but doesn't mention playing music. As Dawn says, we are not going to tell you to turn your music off if you are listening to it whilst on cam.
Now, if somebody set themselves up as Radio SH that would be different!!

Does this mean i can play music whilst on cam ? even though i suspect it might be broadcasting if i tell people "i'm playing this music"?
Is it Broadcasting?
If this is not the case, what i am asking for is a little technical help to get the sound through windows media without playing it through my system speakers, that is whilst i'm wearing earphones.This is possible because my system did work in this way but all of a sudden stopped, i haven't any idea why?

Fully agree with the common sense approach regarding music.
However, there are people on this site who have setup their audio so they are playing specifically to a SH chatroom audience and are taking requests.
I'd assume that this falls into the category of "SH Radio" (like it Sarge!) and perhaps this situation should be included in the AUP.

Joe, I would take guidance from one of the more helpful answers and suggest that if you are on cam and there is music playing in the background then it is OK and not an infringement of the AUP. However if you are behaving like a dj and taking requests etc then it is a no no.
