hope someone can help me in my quest for a new mobile

Hi, although they have some pretty good deals, I wouldn't touch them again, the coverage isn't so good and most phones are like 'great big bricks'
I wouldn't go past O2 now.

I find it all confusing!
I am on pay as you go at present paying about £30 a month I know I can get a contract for this price but I don't want to sign into a contract.
Are there any other type deals out there?
I would like more free talk time to texts!
I am sure someone can help!

Yes TabbynTina all there call centers are not in the UK, if all your looking for is a way to use more text one month and more minites another month but want to be able to speak to someone that talks english why not try T-mobile they do some thing call 'flex' it works like credit for £35 a month you will get £180 of credit every month to use on text, minits and pictures messages, plus they have a better choise of phones.
Well Theladyisaminx if you like the phone you have got at the moment why not go for a 'sim only' deal it is a contract but unlike a normal contract you can cancelle after one month orange is doing a good one at the moment 500min unlimited text for £30 a month or T-mobile have a contract called 'you fix' this is a fixed monthly charge and when your credit has gone you have to top it up so you no where you are.
Hope this helps you both if this isnt what your after I'm sure I can help futher.

Be warned.
O2 run their highstreet shops and internet sales as separate businesses. The shops deals are nowhere near as good as online. And you can't swap between them mid-contract. If you want to go to O2 use the online shop. I don't know if it's the same for others.

Ye most the networks keep there best deals on line we use to have lots of people come in seeing if we could match the online deals and we never could.

I don't get that at all. It's the same company - or should be. Imagine if Asda charged half the price for food ordered online to what it charged in the shop. Doesn't make sense.

Well it all depends what you want online you will get the phone you want at the price you want most of the time but in the store you could have cash back or free bits or both so it all depends what your after best thing to do is shop around when I got my phone I thought I was getting a good deal but the phone its self is shit and the network isnt great but its ok for the time being I went with that network because the customer service are always great

Yep quite right, my deal is online and I can only deal online with bills etc., and changing plans.

Im with vodaphone and when I came to renew my contract I looked at the deal they were offering me versus the online deals and the one that they were offering me was pants in comparision. I contacted customer service and explained what I wanted they said they couldn`t match it, I just mentioned that if they couldn`t offer me the deal I wanted I would find a company that would. Hey presto the deal I wanted and a nice new shiney phone delivered 24hrs later.

freind of mine has 3
they wouldent let her have the phone she wanted had to have what they said even on a contract
when it broke they tryed to make out she didnt have the insurance cover to repair it and they changed the contracts to 2 yearly ones instead of yearly so cant even change companys now
when she rang the call centre yes it was in india they tryed to fob her off
so now shes having to use a payg phone with her contract sim card untill contract runs out
so i would say avoid 3 like the plaque

Hi Lyns
I have spoken to vodafone today asking what deals they will do me as tabby also has his phone with them ( but contract no up yet) they did say they wouldnt be able to get anywhere near what 3 was offering ( 1100 to use as mins or text for £20 versus what I get now which is £20 for 125 mins + 250 texts although I do get stop tthe clock)
anyway they told me to go and look at some phones I like and ring them back tomorow and they will see what they can do

We both have contracts with 3 and have decent Sony Ericson phones (both have different models). Previously I have been with Orange for years and he was with T-Mobile, but we could not beat the 18 month deals on 3 (1100 mins/texts for £20 plus 300 3 to 3 mins).
We have no problems with the phones, no problems with the service and we did have to query something with them and did not go through to a call centre in India (well, the person we dealt with had a London accent).
Coverage has been brilliant, even in the middle of no where and so far we would highly recomend them. This is the second time we have been with them and the only reason we left last time was because my works mobile was with T-Mobile and I had free calls to the same network. They have definately improved their coverage and service since the last time we were with them.

I have just been speaking to one of tabby's friends and he is on 3 and he has never had a problem either, he did say coverage isnt brilliant......but mine isnt either on vadafone.
I do know that the type of phone can make a difference too, I know 3 people who live in the same house all on Orange but 1 of them has a samsung and her signal is rubbish with sister with sony erricson has full signal, she signed up to an 18 mnth contract with Orange and they wont do anything about it so she is now using her contract simcard in a pay as you go phone.
Thanks for all your coments I think I will go for the offer and phones for U say they will even buy my last months contract as I have to give a months notice
