I've asked the same question many times already but so far have had no response. It seems particularly redundant since you can now "logout" of the chatrooms which circumvents the "5 min time out facility".
This topic comes up regularly. Is it possible for this function to be deleted at all? It doesn't really seem to have any benefits and tends to irritate the majority of users. It is particularly annoying when the servers freeeze, or your browser crashes, or any number of others issues that causes you to suddenly come out of the chatrooms.
Pretty please!?

The time out facility is there for ops mainly..
If a chatter is kicked from a room for transgressions then it gives the op time to place a ban on an account (should a ban be warranted) before the chatter has chance to re-enter chat....
No point trying to keep trouble causers out of chat if they can come back in as soon as they are removed is there
Its also usefull for room hosts as it gives them the opportunity to remove unruley chatters and restore order to a room and during that 5 minutes they can compile and send a report to admin without the worry of the chatter coming straight back into chat....
There probably are other reasons as well so its best to ask an Op next time you see one in chat

Your right this subject has been done many times and the 5 minute thingy was taken off not long ago, but put back on.
I feel they should listen more to what members want and ask for, and it is clear the 5 minute log out is annoying and should be made redundant asap.

I thought when a room host kicked someone it usually sends you to another room not out of chat completely

So I didnt dream it then

No Hel, but if ya blinked too quick, you would have missed it.
Admin obviously looked at taking it off, but then had a change of mind and put it back on. To what purpose I do not know. I know it pisses me off though.

Spot on Steve!!
It obviously doesn't work then... There have been many times we've seen people kicked and then them be back in the room in seconds! In fact i've even seen a persistant offender been kicked 27 times in the space of about 2 minutes!

There is a way of going straight back into the room if someone kicks you. I am not going to say how in case there are a few dodgys reading this.
Can be handy if the room crashes as you can get straight back in without losing the room.
