the government and other authorties are taking the chance of a flu pandemic seriously and are putting plans in place to try and deal with it but i think time will tell whethher this is the pandemic or not
And that's right and proper in my opinion. The government are kind of damned if they do and damned if they don't. It's all very well people saying "it's a complete load of old tosh", but if the government ignored the warnings and did nothing because bird flu amounted to nothing, I'm sure those same people would be up in arms that nobody was vaccinated

But what vaccination?
Unfortunately the authorities will have to wait until the strain is identified then the antidote can be developed. Until then we have to take our chances.
Simple measures will help, thats why the wash your hands after sneezing is advertised on the telly. I.e. catch it, bin it and kill it.
We have had lots of influenza type pandemics this century........with the biggest in 1918-19. It is not new and there is nothing that we can do unless we stockpile an antidote for every possible strain......and cost wise this is impractical.
