To take a classic movie that is universally aclaimed and remake it as total crud is weird but to do it simply as an advert for a remade car that is nothing at all like the original is just sad !!!

Is The Italian Job remake the worst remake ever or have there been worse ??
To take a classic movie that is universally aclaimed and remake it as total crud is weird but to do it simply as an advert for a remade car that is nothing at all like the original is just sad !!!

My other significant other watches some tripe TV . When he was here last, I semi-endured the remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. It was dire. However, it's crappyness provided us with enough of a distraction to ensure we didn't overstep our mutually agreed "watershed" boundary.

The Lake House ... Keanu Reeves, Sandra Bullock remake of a Korean film called Il Mare ... they changed it so much it made no sense whatsoever ... but most people prob won't have seen the original so ...
Day The Earth Stood Still ... embarrassingly enough, another Keanu film though I myself quite like him as an actor ...

As much as i like some of his other work, Tim Burton did a shite job of Planet of the Apes

A lot of French films were murdered by Hollywood remakes...
For example La Femme Nikita by Luc Besson with the gorgeous Anne Parrilaud was turned into The Assassin with Bridget Fonda - truly awful
Another of my favourites La Cage aux Folles was turned into The Bird Cage - total crap.

I had heard about the Italian Job and avoided it. Remaking Get Carter is unforgiveable.

Okay it was poor
but King Kong didn't even have real special effects. It was a man in a suit.
How about Solaris? The original bored me to tears … and the remake made me want to slash my wrists.
