If you have been hosting a chatroom and are logging off from the site, you no longer need to request that the room is closed. Providing there are no issues, rooms can now run hostless. Chatroom Ops will check them from time to time to ensure they are running appropriately.

Please note that if you wish to host a different room, you will still need to request the original one is closed. Members cannot host more than one room at once.

To contact an Op immediately, please visit the bottom of the Forum home page where any available Ops and Admin will be listed. This is available here:

This is excellent news thumbup.gif

Any chance we`ll be able to identify the room host in the near future ??

Then we`ll know whether or not we are in an unhosted room and people who frequently abuse the room controls can much more easily be reported.

It's one of the things to look at on the "to do" list for when the chatroom is enhanced.

is there an approximate time scale for when this 'enhancement' will be :-

a) coded at developer level
b) enter system test
c) enter unit test
d) enter user acceptance test
e) be promoted to live

(I appreciate that it might be part way through this development cycle already)

Many thanks,

Varken,

A question on a slightly different, though related subject.

I see that there is a thread with a list of current OPS listed, together with where to look at the bottom of the Forum 'homepage' to identify ADMIN, MODS and OPS. Many people know this, however some don't.

Given a tip from a separate thread a while ago, several users are locating these profiles and adding as Favourites so as to help quickly identify.

The development suggestion is.......

As most users are used to using/locating "Friends", under "My Account", perhaps it might be useful to have a separate 'admin' controlled tab/screen added alongside Friends, Favourtes, Requests, etc. called something like SH Support.

This tab/screen to contain a definative list of all these 3 types of 'super user' suitably colour coded and highlighted as when they are online, alternatively a link from this tab/scren along the lines of 'click here to see who's online now' which delivers users to the Forum page.

OK, whilst those in the know realise to check the Forum page, however it would seem more user friendly and intuitive to the majority of users if something like this was available to assist them.

cheers

We have asked this question many times ourselves HnS, sadly OPs don't know any more than you do.

I am guessing now, once the new version of the site is completely rolled out and settled, the tech guys will start on the new chat. Its at this point that I expect us all to be told icon_confused.gif

may I also put in a request in that we have an option to block a viewer we do not want watching us on cam?

The benefits being;

1. If you have an ex on this site and dont want them watching you, you can prevent it.
2. If there is no room host you can block someone who is watching your cam and being
a nuisance without the member being kicked.
3. If having a particular person watching you makes you uncomfortable you can block them
4. The fun doesnt have to stop for everyone.
5. It gives the cammer more control over a situation.
6. Room Ops and admin get less hassle.
7. Admin get fewer complaints.
8. Everyone gets more time to perv icon_lol.gif

The cons being;

1. Some may take offence at being blocked and cause arguments.

Just a little request icon_wink.gif

I agree with this request. You should be able to decide who watches your cam or block someone that causes trouble

IMO while this would appear to give the cammer more control ultimately they have full control anyway. But it would spoil the rooms with people constantaly asking for access to cam, chat would be bunged up totally and or whispers constant! I think it would be at the detriment of the chat itstelf if this where to happen. I used to use Yahoo chat years ago and you could do just this, permit or block people from veiwing and the chat itself was pretty much just people asking for permission to veiw all the time.

I think the personal advantages of this are outwieghed by the quality of the chat overall and think it would be a bad thing to allow individual cam access.
