[tutorial] How To Add Images To Your Ad Replies

Seems like this problem keep reoccuring all over and people are a little confused. Until this is fixed to a more logical/easier way i will show you how to attach an image to your replies.

<b>1. You must have a photo uploaded to the site, if you do skip this step.</b>

<u>To Upload an image</u>

<ul>
a) click on "My Photos"
b) click on add photo [top right]
c) click browse to chose the photo (which will be located somewhere on your computer)
d) add a comment and click "add photo" button
</ul>

Your photo is now uploaded and on the swinging heaven website (as long as no errors are found) to see what photos you have click on "My Photos".

<b>2. Now when you are replying to an advert you can attach a photo by doing the following:</b>
<ul>
a) in the "write new message" window is a box in the top right which says "add image". using the drop down you can see the images you have

b) chose the image you want from the list, and wait while it loads.

<font color=red><b><u>Internet Explorer Users:</u></b></font>

Just double click on your photo that is displayed and you should see something like this:

[img]319910149.jpg[/img]

this will appear in your message and will automaticly attach your image when you click send. For Internet Explorer users that's all you have to do.


<font color=red><b><u>None IE Users [FireFox, Opera...]</u></b></font>

c) Write your reply in the advert, then at the end (recommend pressing enter a few times first in the text box) click <b>and hold</b> your photo, then drag it to the bottom of your message.

d) once you do this you will see two links that look something like:

http://www.swingingheaven.co.uk/photo-adverts/photos/thumbs/319910149.jpg


e) now all you have to do is place an [img] tag and close it around one of the links as follows:

[img]http://www.swingingheaven.co.uk/photo-adverts/photos/thumbs/319910149.jpg[/img]
http://www.swingingheaven.co.uk/photo-adverts/photos/thumbs/319910149.jpg

</ul>
NOTE: you can link ANY image you want as long as it is hosted on the internet, if you have the link to an image just add the img tags around it and it will be placed in your reply.

NOTE 2: The other methods (not Internet Explorer) will add the small thumbnail of your image, if you wish to attach the FULL SIZE image then just remove the thumbs part of your link:

i.e. [img]http://www.swingingheaven.co.uk/photo-adverts/photos/thumbs/319910149.jpg[/img]
->
[img]http://www.swingingheaven.co.uk/photo-adverts/photos/319910149.jpg[/img]

Thats it, when you send your reply, the image will be attached, you can see this in the preview part as well.

*thanks mods* i thought this might get lost in the forum abyss, actually went back a few pages searching for it, then found it it was sticky!

it strikes me that i must be a thicko as i cant get my pics uploaded i assume its because they arent gif or jpeg can you help please

if up load pics onto my photos does that mean anyone can veiw the pics ????? not sure if i want any tom dick harry o....r mary come to that to view me on here

There is a Private Gallery section that will make certain pictures that you chose only seen by people you allow. by clicking on "My Photos" you will see your pictures. for each photo you can select "is Public" or "is Private". select the relevent one for your photo depending how you want it to be viewed

Quick question: If all your pics are set to Private and you attach one of them in a mail to someone, I assume they will be able to see it in the mail?
