(no innuendo intended!)
Having just had a bit of news worth celebrating I wanted to share it with you guys, giving us all an excuse for a unashamedly feel-good, lovey dovey cheerful thread!
An hour ago, I got a call from my best m8. She was all teary, full of the flu, & close to collapsing. Nothing too serious? Unless you're all kitted out waiting for your name to be callled to fight in a national Martial Arts Tournament!
I told her, as you would, that pulling out was the sensible thing to do. She said "I know".
I then said "But we both know thats not what you're gonna do, is it?" At that point, her name was called on the tannoy so she hung up.
Half an hour ago I got another call. "sit down" she said " I got Silver!"
Now needless to say I am as pleased and proud as punch of the old tart, & wanted to say so publicly.
On a tangent, I also want to "big up" Mr winch- simply for being the wonder that is him on a daily basis! 
So, if you needed one....here is your excuse to say well done / I love you/ thank you
to anyone you feel deserves it! If its for bringing you toast in bed, or doing a charity marathon on a pogo stick...............sing someones praises you shiny happy people!

I wish to big up 3 close mates of mine
Phil... His cancer is now in remission but still coming out with the lads for a knees up in between operations
Debbie & her sisters... Debbie still went to Caister Soul weekender with us - bald after losing her hair during the chemo... seven girls all dressed up in 'bald wigs' for the weekend - wot a hoot
Finaly to Liz for finaly admiting she was very scared after finding a lump on her breast & asking me to come with her too the hospital...
finaly to all those out there doing what you know best to get over adversity

Just wanted to say well done to your mate, as a competitive martial artist myself I know how tough competing is and to get a silver while coping with the flu is definitely something to be proud of. (I'm still trying to find a dentist that'll fix the six front teeth I broke walking onto a very heavy scissor kick in my last competition.)

i would love to "big up" some terrific people but split them up into 3....
