Hi All
Sergeant Steve McKee has just been in touch to ask me to put up an alert for you all to read.
First off he wants to make it clear that the Police are NOT after you or even interested in the sexual naughtiness that's going on! No, they are only interested in catching muggers, abductors, and all the other undesirables that are attracted to some dogging hotspots.
He is particularly concerned himself about Scratchwood (Moat Mount and Nut Wood) and the increased incidence of robbing. He's told me that they've convincted 4 people so far for robbing, so things do happen as a result of reporting to the Police.
He stresses that it's important for anyone who is a victim of this to inform their local police station, as the robbers are banking on you not doing so because they figure you think the Police would consider you a wrong doer too (NOT TRUE!).
If you witness anything at the time, or if you are a victim who is capable at the time, then inform the Police by calling 999 immediately.
He explained there is an increased Police presence around, for example, the Scratchwood area, ONLY because of the illegal activity, they are NOT interested in doggers or swingers or anything like that... just the thieves and the real criminals.
He also stressed that at all times they are only trying to stop people getting hurt. You will be treated with respect and sensitivity if you report an incident.
