Post subject: Guidelines on opening a Room
Posted: Wed May 3, 2006 11:48 am
If you open a room, you are the Host of that room and as such, you are expected to uphold the Chatroom rules. Chatroom Ops will pop into your room to ensure that there are no problems. If there is something you aren't sure of please feel free to ask them.
If you leave that room it is then classed as being unhosted and may be closed by a Chatroom Op as there will be nobody there to control the room.
If you have finished with a room please ask an Op or Admin to close the room for you.
No room names are to contain references to any activity that is illegal.
Opening multiple rooms at the same time is not allowed under any circumstances!!
If you open a room you must warn someone before you kick them out.
You CANNOT kick someone from a room due to the colour of their skin, their geographical location, sexual orientation, their membership status or if they are not on cam. If, for example, you want a room for Couples only, you should make this a Private room with a password, so that entry is by invite only.
If you do not want people “Directing” then open a room with “No Directing” in the title.
Please give some thought to the name that you choose for your room. Anything that is considered offensive will be closed without warning. Capitals are considered to be shouting and rude in the chatroom so please do not use capitals in the title of the room.
Whispering without permission is not acceptable in ANY room. Do not put whispers accepted in the title of your room as you will find that the room wil be closed without
warning!!!!
Do not open a room to promote a meeting you would like (ie Big Boy in Manchester for meet on Sunday). The Let's Meet Up Forum is specifically for that so any such room will be closed.
Do not set up a room to swap pictures. This breaks the site AUP and could result in you receiving a ban. We also do not allow Phone Sex Rooms.
Do not open a room with a false/misleading name ie; 'wife on cam in 15 minutes'
Chatroom Ops have access to any room, even if it is password protected. If you attempt to kick an OP from your room the room will be closed.

If there are no op's about and you have to leave, it's not a problem. We dont expect you to hang on for hours waiting for one of us to wander in
We'll close it as soon as someone come on and realises the host has left anyway, but if there are only one or two people left in the room , you could ask them to leave so the room can be closed. Rooms always close automatically when the last person leaves them

If any of us are on line we will show with our names in purple on the front page of the forum. You can either find us in one of the rooms or in one of the *home of the chatroom ops* help rooms, or alternatively send us a pm and we will close your room for you asap.
However, if none of us are on line, send us a pm anyway and we will deal with it as soon as we log on

Will there be a facility in the future to be able to close your room yourself as you leave it?
I have to confess to often forgetting to find an op when I've left a room I've opened, and three times now, the room has been abused after I've gone and the people left have had to find an op. I'd feel a lot more comfortable if I could close it on my way out.

Thank you for clearing that up as we have been told in past that we had to politely ask all to leave warn them ( give them 20 seconds or alike) and then kick them if they didnt.
We have always asked someone to open a new room and then go in once ours has closed and thanked them for leaving when asked.
<<<<<knows now to refer to forum or op other than a emember now matter how long they been on here,
Again thanks

With the new chatroom, the room will close automatically when the host leaves, but does give everyone a 20 second warning to change rooms.

You could also add - don't make the room name too long.
If you do it just gets right cropped after 41 characters and it is not possible to see the room counter..

I think you will find that anything goes as long as it is not an illegal activity..
so the usage of illicit drugs on cam is illegal
the use of animals in a sexual manner is also illegal
I know you are probably thinking who in their right mind would use animals for sex on a swinging site.. but it has been seen and dealt with by room Ops lol

Sadly I feel that if we wrote a list a mile long about what you can and can't do on cam, you'll always find somebody that would invent something new.
Yes there is the legality side of things, we are also governed by the site AUP, the chatroom rules and guidelines and even the terms and conditions.
I feel also that common sense is a good yardstick to run with as well.
All I would add to that is that if a room host, a chatroom op or a member of the admin team ask you to modify what you are showing on cam, then I would advise that it would be worth doing. (and no - that would not be classed as directing).

hi ok the one thing that annoys me is this.quote If you leave that room it is then classed as being unhosted and may be closed by a Chatroom Op as there will be nobody there to control the room. unquote .so many times ihave had a room with maybe 20 oo 30 people in and had to leave without warning to restart my computer, or had a freeze, been offline no more then 5 minutes then get back to see everyone has been removed by a op doing his job i will say not his fault.. When a room is left under these circumstances surely to have a op come in see its unhosted either ask where the host is, or wait 10 minutes to see if the host returns. Before shutting down the room it isnt to much to ask .Thus now leading me onto the same matter but with more seriousness. I understand under the new rooms if you host a room and yoiu leave, the entire room will shut down!!! that is going to spoil a lot of peoples pleasure if i get booted from AOL like i do . and it kicking everyone else at the same time surely a time limit of 10 minutes then if still unhosted would be better then to ruin everyones night of chat by booting them because i been disconnected, that way if i,m not back in 10 minutes then i,m surely not coming back as a reboot doesnt take that long.
so to sum up
dont be to eager to close rooms as most the time we members like you get problems as well and need to restart.
