Or now? icon_rolleyes.gif

Thats on Tiscali's basic broadband (forgotten the stats) but legend has it we're too far away from a decent exchange to get anything better. icon_evil.gif

I have finally got a reply from my complaint to Virgin but it they are not admiting to anything and appear to be blaiming the problems on Spyware!

Thanks for getting in touch with the Virgin Media Support team.

We're sorry to hear you have been having problems with your broadband connection.

Virgin Media do not block access to any ports. Our traffic management policy affects individual users but not specific ports or protocols. Our traffic management policy is available to view here: http://allyours.virginmedia.com/html/internet/traffic.html

I've run full diagnostics on your connection and have not been able to
find a fault on the network that would be causing you to have slow
speeds. Could you please complete the checks below and send the results
back to me by return email? Please run these checks with the computer
connected directly to the cable modem bypassing any networking equipment
you may be using.

A major cause of slow speeds is spyware on PCs. Spyware is software that
can install itself on to your PC without your knowledge and cause
problems when browsing the Internet. If you have spyware security
software, you'll need to scan your entire system using this software and
remove any files that are detected. If you currently have no spyware
software you can download our PCguard software from the following link: blah, blah, blah ....

I also tried the speedtest and will try again after 6pm, which is when I am having most of the problems. Todays results show:

Have 4mg Virgin/Telewest/Blueyonder account, and from my very limited knowledge, this appears to be good. Cant wait to see the drop in speed this evening icon_rolleyes.gif

With AOL on god knows what .. silver package? Can only get this, BT or completely switch over to Virgin and tbh I've not really had many probs to warrant a change.
