The c key on my laptop sticks - not every time, but often enough to annoy the hell out of me. I spilt coffee on the keyboard ages ago and it took ages for all the button to work, and the worst was the q,a,z, etc.

All seemed well until a few weeks ago and the c got lazy.

Is it ok to prise the button off? I've done it on normal keyboards but obviously laptop keyboards are integral so I'm not sure.

I have lazy I's icon_rolleyes.gif

Just copy the web address and paste it. No need to click URL even, if you just want the link to look like the one you posted above. You only have to muck about with it when you want to replace the web address with words, like this:

Wiki link for OCD

phpBB2 forum software (on which this board is based) auto recognises URLs that begin either with http:// or www. (as you can see the software thinks these are web addresses) so the URL tag isn't really required.

It is required though for linking some text as FB did or for links that don't follow the standard format, e.g. en.wikipedia.org

Hi Gary, since installing Service Pack 3 I have been unable to download and install Microsoft updates, a couple of them critical. The download/install fails every time I try. Like a numpty I didn't create a system restore point before installing Service Pack 3 or I would have tried to reverted back to 2 !!! Tried various things, closing down Zone Alarm, using IE instead of my Firefox which is my default browser....any help would be very much appreciated - Bri

Apparently this is proving to be a common problem with people who have applied SP3, There isn't really answer to it other than to reinstall as it was such a major patch it would be almost impossible to do a manual uninstall.

What I can recommend doing though (I did it and haven't had any problems at all) is to use the SP3 redistributable patch (about 300+Mb) and your XP install CD to do what's called a "streamlined" SP3 version of the install. Here's how you do it.

Just downloaded firefox and have started using that but the first thing i do when i switch the pc on is check my emails through msn this still opens in windows ie, will it always open in ie? going through msn or is it just something that needs changing in settings?
Quite happy with it so far though thumbup.gif

Tan, I think it's "locked" as it's all part of Mr Gates' master plan! However, if there is a way of changing it I'd love to know too!

Welcome to the FireFox side icon_cool.gif

Hi all icon_smile.gif.....

I have windows live mail installed on my laptop but I know most folks don't like downloading their emails to their pc's....so alternatively just make a shortcut to msn in firefox....Glad you all like Firefox....
