I use Irfanview as my default picture viewer, and have been trying to download a picture of me wearing a hat for my avatar, but having no luck.. it says "do not support file" yet when I uploaded one of my boob it worked!

Any ideas? It's 54.4KB and 640x480 .. would appreciate any help.. I have a feeling I might have to disable Irfanview...

Thanks all!!! icon_biggrin.gif

I'm presuming you mean "upload" rather than download, ie you want to send the image from your computer to SH's server?

If this is the case then you have to be very specific in how you save the file. It can only be a gif file or a non-progressive jpg file. It can't be a png file.

The code dealing with the upload is most likely using either what's called GD2 or ImageMagick to process the uploaded file so it can add the watermark amongst other things. As such the possible image format seems to be very strictly limited so as to aid the necessary coding.

In the Irfanview save dialogue (not the "save as") make sure that the jpg option (over to the right) "save as progressive JPG" is unticked.

This is driving me mad.. I have the bluetooth set up on my laptop, and my mobile is visible, I have a nokia, and want to transfer pictures on to my laptop but it won't work.

When I click on find device, a box comes up saying "make sure your bluetooth radio is plugged in"

doh.gif

Everything is visible... so not quite sure what is going on... any ideas peeps?

dunno.gif

With some Nokias you have to tell the phone which mode you want to use. There's Nokia mode in which you can use the Nokia software to transfer your images, see your texts etc, there's data mode which allows the operating system to see your phone as a removable hard drive. There's is another mode but I can't remember what it is, something to do with sending images to printers I seem to recall.

The bluetooth function of the operating system has to relate to a comm port too so that it can communicate as if it was talking to a virtual modem.

It could be any number of these things, but you didn't say how you wanted to transfer the files. Did you want to do it via Windows Explorer (the standard file manager) or via the Nokia software (PC Suite).

Theoretically it should discover it at least as a generic removable hard drive, but it all depends if the BT dongle/receiver is setup as a comm port.

My XP system spots my 6300 on both BT and USB, but I can't remember if it did so before installing PC Suite.

I usually go for the easier option and just pop the mem card out of my phone and use the card reader its far quicker than blue tooth........Gary xx

Its a nokia 1650 - and I have a 3 dongle which is set up as a comm port.. so can't understand why it won't find it... my other half has the same phone and bluetooths his to his mac... I will try and download pc suite when I get a mo...

I wish my phone was posh enough to have a memory card Gary!

Will have a word with my other half and see what he suggests when he comes round later....
