This may be a really silly question but why are you using Linux and not XP or Vista??
I know a lot of folks do use Linux but in your case I am not sure why you have it???
Gary....
net books ususally come pre loaded with an op system and the cheaper ones seem to opt for Linux as you can save a whole load of cash if you don't have to pay Mr Gates for his shiney, shiney quality op system
Splendid, you should have a usb port, to install it form a memory stick, or a flash drive of some sort on the web book, possibly a CF or SD card. If you can plug it into another pc (maybe using a card reader- only about £5 from ebuyer) you can copy the install for Messenger onto it, you still need to be online to install it though.
If you can't find the install or get it in (think you might need a few other Microsoft things like Dotnet) you know where to find me
(yep, i'll be on MSN laughing at you)
