Too lazy to read back. But if anyone using avg 8.5 upgrades to avg 9 expect problems if on XP. Quick fix is to disable link scanner. Web pages can fail to load fully etc. Plus i was unable to download divx whilst avg was running. Also not easy to close down like past versions.

I used to use AVG, but it soon became obvious it confused genuine programs and sites as viruses etc far too often for me, so I use Avast now and have no problems with it.

I'm not techie, but i think maybe this might apply to me. Can't see any pics on profiles, can't receive any invites to view pics, can't click on the bug report link, can't change and save anything on my profile, can't open emails properly and open forum posts properly without several attempts.

I have XP and use AVG icon_sad.gif Have to find me a techie by the look of it!

Have a look in the New Site thread - there have been a few probs and failing that submit a support ticket to admin with all the details above and they will have a look.

Long time no see Tabbi kiss.gif

As I said in my previous post - AVG is well known for getting genuine sites and programs confused with Viruses. Avast is easier to use, FREE, updates regularly without you having to ask it to and I haven't had ONE virus or malware attack my computer. I also use Zonealarm too.

If it's not AVG then it might be possible that the browser is faulty. One way of checking is to either change browser or to uninstall and then install the latest version as sometimes automatic updates don't run properly.

Firefox

http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/firefox.html

Safari

http://www.apple.com/safari/download/

Google Chrome

http://www.google.com/chrome/index.html?hl=en-GB&brand=CHMB&utm_campaign=en_gb&utm_source=en_gb-ha-emea-uk-sk&utm_medium=ha

I don't use Internet Explorer any more, but if you do prefer it (or don't want to try the above) then the link to the latest version is:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/Internet-explorer/default.aspx

Hope that helps icon_biggrin.gif

If AVG is causing the problem it will cause problems on all web sites. Pages just refuse to open fully etc. I understand AVG are aware of the problem so its just a matter of waiting till the bug gets sorted.
If its only on this site you are having probs, then i havent got a clue icon_confused.gif

Changing to firefox does normally cure most browser issues......

If its an anti virus/spyware prob I would advise buying one....I never used to.....but then I never used to do online banking.....these days 25 quid a year for a decent anti virus/spyware program is money well spent....however if you dont do online banking then there are several free versions....namely avast and several good free spyware programs....see "computeractive" website for genuine liks to the free programs....

This is the only site I'm experiencing problems, and I can't report them through the proper channels because the problems prevent me from using the link to report probs lol.

I'll just have to use my imagination when it comes to pics, and I've found that refreshing the page makes the rest of it show icon_smile.gif

I had problems viewing pics - I have to clear my cookies every time I log in - then it behaves.

If you are still having problems reporting bugs or putting a support ticket in - send Admin a pm explaining why your going via that channel and the problems your having. I'm sure they won't mind in this instance.

Nice to see you btw wave.gif

No they won't. you install Firefox and start it for the first time and it asks if you wish to copy your IE favourites over to the FF bookmarks icon_wink.gif

As has been mentioned above........When you install Firefox it copies your favourites over from IE and leaves IE just as it was so you can use both...xxxx

also firewalls can block pics from being shown i have found on some sites

i used to use avg a long time ago it was good but it got too draconian nowadays instead i use nod32 instead but thats not free well it is for me lol

but most of time i dont use antivirus i just use a good firewall instead and find that is enough to protect me

when i recently upgraded this it conflicted with my zonealarm firewall.
