would it not be possible to bring in some sort of feedback rating system like a very well known auction site. For example, if a guy is genuine, he will get positive feeback score and other members/couples/singles etc will be in a better position to judge people before they reply/make contact whatever. I'm sure such a system must have been suggested at some point in the past but i dont recall seeing such a discussion.
As your a relatively new member I'll point you in the direction of some of the myriad of threads that have been started, the first here is the most infamous on this site and the one that most refer to.

There are loads of others (if you use the "search" button at the top of the page and write the word "verification" you'll get loads), but the second link pretty much highlights the way any the discussions go. There are newer threads, but they don't usually get past 1 or 2 pages.
As for those having problems with others I'd recommend contacting us (ie mods/ops/admin) and making a complaint. If you're receiving messages from friends stating their having problems, please advise them to contact us. If we don't know, we can't try to help.
As stated by Mal it's unhelpful posting complaints in the forums and intimating that you speak for the majority.

As always....I defer to the "management" but judging from pm's and emails sent to us over "issues" on this site in the past, I will never be convinced that the majority view is honored on here. One must always remember that on a pay site, the maximum number of users generates the maximum income and an assholes cash is as good as the next guys.
there are over 900,000 members. The majority is therefore more than 450,000. I think we are in a better position regarding what the members want than you are, don't you think? Are you telling me that over 450,000 members have contacted you? Who set you up as the collater of this information and how were the membership informed of this?
We tend to look at the bigger picture rather than what cannot be more than a handful of PM's you must have received. and if you have received more than that and feel so strongly about it, why haven't you forwarded this on to the management to discuss, rather than bringing it to the forums where it would have little or no effect?

but how many active members??? how many of those members joined and then never came back once they realised that as a free site for them they get next to naf all
and as for saying take it to the management, theres lots of times ive seen posts saying that they never get a response when submitting a support ticket so I would imagine that most people think there is no point.
I have recently submitted a support ticket regarding a problem but have yet to recieve a reply,,,,but there again I would imagine with the changes on the site admin have got quite a few emails/complaints to sift through

As a site we get around 70,000 unique visitors per month (according to an independent traffic comparison site), so lets say that 5% are visitors (and that's being very generous) then that's 66,500 site users.

So lets say that 1% of users complain and don't get a reply, or the reply that they want ... that'll be 665 people and of those 10% complain on the site, that's 66.5 complaints a month .... sorry, but I don't think we get 66.5 posts a month openly complaining about admins response, or lack of it.
The figures above are only a general idea to support the fact that all the people involved in the complaints procedure do take complaints seriously and do attempt to deal with them in an unbiased and fair way.

I can't comment on any individual case because I do not have access to all sections of the complaints system, but as you have already suggested there are a larger number of problems being generated as people help us find bugs and problems with the new site layout. I'm sure that admin will deal with your problem as quickly as possibly, but please understand that there are times when we do deal with the problem, but may not notify the complainant for one reason or another.
