The reason we take up to ten tag opinions on each one is to make sure its accurate giving us an "average opinion" to display the results with.

Of course everyone that uploads any picture on here thinks they are david baily icon_eek.gif.

Does no one think it will be useful???

I'm not particularily bothered about the whole thing, but it seems to me the admins should have anticipated such innovation, giving an announcement of some sort... or even polling for the opinion of the members.
as it is, the plan, however good the intentions, seems to have backfired (also severely hampering my chances to perve taz.gif )
may I suggest that you give the members the chance to chose (a simple flag-unflag system should do) whether to let people rate their pics or not?

The idea behind the system is so you can browse the photos that you want to.

The 1-10 scale isn't a rating, it's the quality of the image not the content. The data will be used to display the clearer better quality of images first, with the blurry ones at the back of the search query after we get the new search implemented.

The categories that the images are tagged into will be used to filter the images that you want to see e.g. if you are a couple looking for another couple, living 30 miles away, and not wanting to see cock shots, the new search will be able to meet that criteria. Currently the gallery has nil functionality or use for any thing other than looking at pictures, Russian Roulette style.

Currently there are nearly half a million photos that need to be categorised before any new relevant search can be implemented. We are actively encouraging users to tag their own photos that are uploaded and there will be an announcement on your homepage in the next few days.

Swinging Heaven is looking for ways to make all areas of the site more relevant and usable for the members. Our goal is continual improvement and listening to our member feedback. In the recent site surveys, a relevant image search was one of the top three points that our member base was asking for. As you are aware there are a large number of site improvements being worked on at the moment that will be rolled out over the next 18 months.

Still not sure this has been done in the proper way. Image quality is too subjective, what seems ok for one person may be considered dreadful for someone else.

Also what's the logic in getting other people to rate your pictures and decide which categories apply? I don't expect other people to choose my likes and dislikes. Surely this should be an option when uploading pictures allowing the owner of the photos, to think about the appropriate categories?

After reading this I can GUARANTEE this is in no way shape or form a ratings system.

At the moment feedback indicated that people do not want to click through 3000, pages of pictures in the public gallery. The image quality option is that, it is no way a public or displayed rating option. Many women indicated they did not want to sift through 1000s of cock shots.

We want to make all the features on this site as useable and relevant for everyone as possible. After each image/video has been tagged 10 times the option will disapear.
When the new search is released you will find it very very useful. We have a private image gallery for anyone who wants to keep pictures private and out of the public gallery. I dont know if you remember but we were one of the first to do this and seems everyone copied us also like the site watermarking and video chat.

We are only interested in giving the members on this site the best features possible.... please understand that. Every change we make has been asked for by the members here.

Does that mean just youself sees it?

Oh I wasn't aware of that

When u upload new pictures, u have the option of having it public on your profile, but not in the public gallery where it can be rated?

I do understand that the admin team are trying to help us all out from the feedback from members. They have put the option of multi-cam which I do like icon_wink.gif I'm willing to see how it goes icon_smile.gif

I don't think that is the issue.

This was 'sneaked' in, the members were not asked for help in making this feature work, there has been no thought to the feelings of the members, and the company that owns this site clearly feels they found an easy, cost effective way in getting this to be a fully usable feature, with nothing more than the promise of a better search facility on offer.

Surely if a better search facility is the goal, shouldn't this have been readied before implementation, rather than assume we will be the testers and developers for you?

As for the quality of pics, you make a sneering generalisation that "everyone thinks they are David Bailey" but not every pic is taken or viewed in an artistic fashion, some are purely for 'advertising' purposes.

This is at the heart of the issue really. Talk to us tell us what to expect and why? As I've said many many times before, information is key. Tell people what's going on and not only does it give people warning but it also allows people to opt out if they so wish, and prevents any potential backlash.

Nobody likes to be dictated to.

Oh, and as melting pot has said, now that people are moving their pics, or even deleting them, my perving opportunities have become less.

isn't the tagging of pics, another form of verification?

I cant help with any rating options as there are not any! icon_rolleyes.gif

We need 500,000 pictures tagged to use in the new search feature. It takes about 20 seconds to do each one so in terms of time that would take someone 79 working weeks to do assuming they never stopped to do anything else icon_rolleyes.gif .

You could say at the moment if you wanted to spend just 2 seconds looking at each picture in the gallery to see if you liked it that currently would take you two monts assuming you were on here doing it 35 hours a week.

So it was absolutely no surprise that we had thousands of people asking for this when we ran the recent surveys.

Send all of your pictures to me... I'll tag them (and you!) No, don't (has visions of Inbox actually containing 100's of messages for once) icon_lol.gif

Personally, it doesn't bother me but then I guess I'm not the type that's that bothered about being consulted as long as it's not life of death type stuff icon_confused.gif

I do like the 'tagging' term though... I saw this film once called 'Tag Team.. somethingorother.' It wasn't about pics icon_wink.gif

I'm sorry to sound like an embittered old traditionalist, but I fail to see how such an "improvement" aids the, supposedly, primary focus of the site, which is purported to be swinging.

While photographs are an aid in deciding whom people want to play with, I would also assume that a great many swingers often read a profile or interact with folk in another way too, rather than just look for nice cocks / boobs and then rattle off a PM in the hope of a shag later that week. I would venture that many swingers methods of selecting their potential partners are a little more selective. I would also hazard that while many people may be great photographers, that may not make them necessarily great swingers, and vice versa.

Being cynical, you could just say that it is an easy way to bring in the single frustrated male / female membership masturbation money, by providing them with easy links to true amateur photographs of the finest wanking material that they require.

If that is the case, do we get a model fee?

I understand the system is not a ratings system perse, but given the reaction by most here to the wording used, it seems inevitable that this is how it will be interpreted by many and then used as such by a great many people on here, even in good faith. You put the word "rating" in any context next to photographs and the vast majority of people will ignore the words "quality".

I also feel the fact that to roll out such an improvement without warning, when it concerns the fragile sensibilities of members on a site such as this, was ill-informed. I understand that you don't have time to listen to every Tom, Dick or Harriet's thoughts on the issue, but it would have been a common courtesy at the very least to let people know it was coming, rather than roll it out and then firefight the reaction afterwards.

I'm all for improving the site for swingers. I fail to see how this makes swinging any easier. It makes life for those seeking a quick wank, whilst looking at things that turn them on, immeasurably easier. I'd never choose to swing with someone simply because of the quality of their pics or how easy they are to find, I don't think anyone else would either.

I'm afraid to me, it smacks of pandering to the larger market. In effect using the pictures of people on here as a free porn market for subscribing masturbatory folk. That's fair enough, but at least tell us that is what our pics will be used for.

Yours

Mrs Trellis (North Wales)

Same as more cams and ability to remove whispers (that went live today). We are listening icon_wink.gif no point us doing anything that people dont want.

Please wait until you see the benefits of what we are trying to do here for the members before passing judgement thats all we ask.

Of course the idea of being able to narrow down categories is a good one.

I would imagine this could be implemented by having a system whereby as you loaded a shot, you gave it "labels."

EG a shot of me being spitroast by a white guy and a black guy whilst masturbating a female would have the tags:

"Group"
"Interracial"
"Bisexual"

If I'd had my face in the cream cake aisle at Tesco, I might decide to use the tag "BBW" (Can't see it though, I hate that phrase)

Why on earth is any need to have some passing Joe Bloggs label me as a BBW?

Or indeed be able to label me at all...that, Dear Admin is what's getting peoples backs up.

Can admin explain why the ability to tag is open to everyone? Is there a reason?

I guess the argument will be that the more tags the better, for functionality purposes. Not so. The more accurate the tag, the better. The person most likely to tag their pics accurately is the owner.

Sure, some people would try to abuse the system, but if the tags were kept to a maximum of say 5 per pic, they could be approved by the mega-mods as the pic was being approved. Or there could be a report this tag option.

This isn't social me.

More cams and the ability to remove whispers are features that would be considered a no-brainer as far as most are concerned.

You made the point that a lot of people think they are David Bailey, and that would appear to mean that those that takes the pics think they are good pics.

Now, without wishing to be overstepping the mark here, I have seen pics of people I have seen at munches etc, and the pics sometimes have not done the person justice, because they have been taken with webcams, in poor light, hastily etc, but what if someone was to take a look at a pic, and decided to tick the box that says 'BBW', and yet it was nothing more than an unflattering photo, or that the person detests labels, and would never in a million years consider themselves a BBW, surely someone could cause offence with the tagging of a photo?

Please consider the members before asking them not to pass judgement on something you may now be realising is something they are not totally in support of.

I would imagine it is because in an effort to provide a feature to increase customer traffic and revenue, by making it open to all, they have an abundance of free labour.

There is another problem of course. If it is true that we are effectively being used to tag other people's photos, does this mean that the first person to see a particular pic is allowed to tag it? Or does each visitor to that particular pic have a chance to tag? Is it first come first served, or are the tags somehow assimilated into a single rationalised profile?

What happens if I tag someone as a BBW who doesn't see themselves as BBW? Or someone else is tagged as gay when they might be straight? How am I supposed to know whether a picture which contains two women are lesbian or not? Without knowing the context it is likely to cause hugh offense.
