Go back to NZ where I spent some of my childhood and see whether it truly lives up to my memories. I want to emigrate there but hubby's not so keen icon_sad.gif

I'd love to stand in the Forum in Rome and think of Cicero, Livy, Polybius, the Gracchi, Martial, Juvenal, Ovid, Horace, Catullus, and others, as having been there too. That'd be something. I would also remember the hundreds of thousands of slaves who'd also been there.

Go Great White Shark watching in a cage.

Only a few things that have stopped me doing it:

1) Money
2) Distance
3) Saw a documentary of this activity and a fecking great shark dived into the cage with the tourists. When I was watching I shat myself.........never mind what went through their heads.

I would still like to do it.......but wanting to do it is different to getting into the water with them.

This is my little dream too, but one I'm turning into reality ion a suprising way.

Totally downsized my life last year, realised i didn't need a big house and flashy car but i needed a better life in other ways. Managed to go travelling for 6 weeks and it was phenomenal, am putting 10 pounds away a week in a tub, and also every pound coin or 50p peice i get in change every day i keep in a seperate pocket and then put that in the tub too, last year i ended up with £1200 nigh on, saved without even really trying. Used it for the shoe string travelling and had an amazing time.

I'm doing the same this year with even more change going in my dream tub. I'll tell u how it goes or better still get bloody saving and come with me!!

When i went to tenerife once i went on a whale and dolphin watching boat trip, people were there taking photos and i kind of just dived in without even thinking about it. The whales, can't remember the species but they were small, kind of were like "who is this idiot and one nudged me.

I was hauled into the boat given a complete and utter bollocking in spanish (think it was spanish) and shunned by the rest of the tourist all but one. An old guy said as i was getting off the boat "that must of felt fantastic doing that" - and it was!

I seriously think i'd be tempted with the great white's but hope that sanity prevails.

Id love to buy my own tiny tropical island paradise, just somewhere I could call my own, lapped by clear blue tropical seas, lush with greenery and plantlife, soft white beach, just somewhere peaceful and still, to totally escape the rat race and real life from time to time.

Oooooh... now that's appealing, but it would have to have broadband and a fast yacht to go with it! icon_wink.gif

I would never go to one of the places that do the touristy thing of attracting these animal for their audience, but when I was working in Greece there were a few times when at the end of the day, out on a boat a couple of dolphins would appear and start to circle the boat. It was the most beautiful and calming experience to witness, they are such beautiful animals.

I really hate the shark baiting tours that people go on. If you want to see these animals in their natural habitat it might take days or even months......don't go on a tour that guarantees it as they'll be baiting them to come out of their natural habitat.

I believe it was hundreds of shark teeth!

For me, I would want to stop all war, industry, work and school. Let the whole world have one day off together and maybe some of the madness would stop.
