I'm also worried about the amount of new single guys that will struggle to get anywhere on this site because they can't get any form of vouch or meet rep.

I fear it wont only be new guys who struggle without SHREP enabled....

You cant leave a 'meet' rep unless you arranged the meet via the SHRep system, however, you can leave a vouch (if they are on your friends list) or a site rep (if you have exchanged messages). Hope that helps icon_wink.gif

why SHREP doesn't work.

Ok, so after being accused of being a hairy arsed lorry driver too many times, I enabled my SHREP to allow some real life friends on mine on here to vouch for me, (they are both couples and long time social friends, not pick ups from here)

So, then I got random SHrep feedback from men I have chatted to in email, I haven't met any of them and don't intend to, so I hid their comments as I really feel who I chat to on here is my business not anyone else's. Whatever happened to discretion?

So, then it looks like I have something to hide, my SHrep thingy says 5 feedback but I only choose to show 2, but it still shows up onto memos I send and on my ad's, so I have disabled it again, back to square one!

This is an awful system, unlike ebay if you get feedback you disagree with, you cannot make a reply to comments made, and besides, on a site like this, personally I find it off-putting, it smacks of notches on the bed post and is frankly, a tacky and cack handed way of going about proving you are genuine.

just had some insulting messages from a wanker I had turned down meeting, and I tried to leave feedback to warn others, but cannot, he does have shrep enabled, so what is the point of the system if you cannot do that?

Demi,

if someone has insulted you and breached the AUP then it may well be that you should simply hit the 'report profile' button and make a complaint.

As I understand it, members can adjust the settings so that they see the comments before they are published on their profile.

Thanks, but not that bothered, some guys get nasty when you turn them down, just goes to prove my first impression was right and they are wankers! icon_lol.gif

He is obviously still smarting that I refused him in the first place, that he felt he needed to send a new batch of messages to try and put me down!

But I didn't find a way to leave shrep, even though we have exchanged several messages.

I've just logged on for the first time today, and my SHrep (which I chose to have on display) has completely disappeared! Even the Shrep heading from the left column, showing the numbers has gone! dunno.gif

Is someone playing around because I've spent the last 10 minutes trying to find it, but it's definately not there?

Thanks

A network card on one of the database servers went and we have been waiting for the data center to swap it out, unfortunately they haven't been as quick as we would expect.

.... which I believe is techno-speak for: "The cleaners probably unplugged one of the 'puters so they could use the hoover". icon_wink.gif

Thanks Steve! thumbup.gif

I wouldn't fancy being one of those owners this morning. Although it depends how you were planning to do the ironing out rascal.gif
