Randytwo, I am looking to get 80 bare minimum in the door for hire of the entire venue. I doubt they are counting but I want to make it at least look as though its close to the 100 they wanted for the entire venue. We are off on holiday on Saturday and will be back the following Saturday. When we return we will see how many more names we have down and then decide

The evening will take place in a pub near the town centre of Bristol. We hope to have use of the entire venue for the event which would be fantastic however this is dependent on the numbers attending. If we do not have the required numbers for the entire venue then we will have a private room within the same venue. Both options fulfill the required guidelines i.e. private toilets and exclusive use of the room or pub. An added extra weather permitting is a smoking balcony.

We have no plans to provide food so please eat before you attend the event. At the moment there is no theme for this event although I am open to changing that should enough members want one (I am a little late getting this thread up and have not had a chance to sort one). We will be providing music but at what level is not yet decided. Any budding DJ’s out there want to give us a hand? Send me a PM I can provide you with a list of equipment the venue has available.

There is no charge for this event but at some time in the evening a glass may be passed around to recoup the event costs, donation is optional. Any profit made will go to the Make a wish foundation plus one other charity chosen by Nimbus.

If you are nervous about attending please contact us and we will try to provide you with a chaperone for evening or at least to walk in with. If you have any disability and require seating please contact us for reserved seats for you and a plus one.

We will be providing name badges courtesy of Midschick36, many thanks for your help.

We have a list of local hotels please PM us for the list. A list of local Taxis and restaurants will be available closer to the event date. Cant attend due to kids? If you fancy a break in Bristol for the weekend I can send you details of a babysitting service that will do hotels. Registration and sitter cost would be roughly in the region of £40-£50

HELP: We can always use some extra help, it’s a big event to organize so if you can help with any of the following please let us know. A stint on the door (Well known members only), Chaperone's for new or nervous members, A DJ with or without equipment.

To sign up for the event simply leave a message below. Confirmations will be required closer to the event date and the thread title will be altered to state this. So please do check this thread nearer the time to confirm your place. If you DO NOT CONFIRM your place may go to another member and you will not be sent the event details. Event details will be sent out only a few days before to protect member’s privacy.

Update July 4th: The reserve list has been opened with 83 people already on the list (Up to date figure at bottom of main list). Anyone who now signs up will be added to the reserve list but dont worry if you sign up early on the reserve list you should get a place as people always drop out or dont confirm. Please if you are on the list and can not make it let us know a.s.a.p. so your place can be offered to someone else.



Update on numbers 15th of July: Thought it only fair to update you all on the numbers attending and how this effects the reserve list. First background. The venue wanted 100 people through the door plus a small fee in return for us having the entire venue. Ourselves and Nimbus visited the venue after first contact to asses what we thought would be comfortable numbers for both scenarios either the entire venue or just the upstairs. Our initial thoughts were entire venue maximum comfortable numbers 140 and just the upstairs around 70. These numbers are not set in stone. Numbers including the reserve list currently stand at 110 and I previously quoted 120 as being the minimum needed for the entire venue. In hindsight that now seems maybe a little quick off the mark. With 120 on the list if 30 dont confirm and 30 dont turn up we have 60 and an annoyed venue if we have all of it. So I am going to do something I hate doing and that is withdraw the 120 for the entire venue number. My apologies for this. I will monitor the numbers to the last possible moment before making a decision. I will say with 120 on the list I would rather take a risk and have 20 not confirm and 20 not turn up a total of 80. We will manage upstairs with 80 and wont annoy the venue. Again my apologies for back tracking on this. Should this be a success I would like to have a happy venue who may allow up back

At the present moment the only provision for music is yours truly providing a Playstation console attached to a 10 year plus old Sony surround sound system. Not as bad as it seems the Playstation is a rare early version with the good sound chips in and both items are Sony so sound quality should be quite good. Still its not the best plan in the world. I have some CD's but they are mostly 90's plus and a lot are scratched On top of that there will be gaps in the music whilst I find someone to replace me at the door whilst I run up to press play on the next CD. Did you guess I have had no volunteers for music yet?

So...... Still needing help with the music. Some suggestions have been made am awaiting on a few return messages but nothing sorted by a long way. Anyone who can help with

1: Playing music
2: Burning or bringing some CD's (could do USB sticks if we have equipment for them)
3: Being called a DJ and doing a set for us

Anything basically cus at the moment the music part of this party is looking pretty
