I don't think having more sympathy with the victim than you do for the perpetrator can be described as bad thinking

What Miss Malone has done is to start her article with a false statement.."I DON'T know how or even when it happened, but Britain is now a nation that puts the welfare of child killers above the welfare of children." I don't believe anyone really thinks this is the case.
She then continues to construct a straw man by linking two unrelated cases and using them to demonstrate what a sorrowful state we are in....It's not only bad logic it is misleading
and destructive.

What a sorry state of affairs the old Government have got us into.

I got to the bit where it referred to social workers being prosecuted under human right slaw, and realised Carol Malone knows the square root of fuck all about law. Or reality. Or humanity. Or anything worth a damn. Mind you, I should have given up at the point where she was having her rant about Venables being an interweb perve under the noses of probation officers, when it was a probation officer who caught him!

You do read some shit Ken...

Yes but most of us are capable to see through this, and know our selves that this is not the case at all, she is dramatising to sell papers

Most do.......the rest link it as fact. The ability to think for yourself has been lost in the previous two generations and the population is being pulled around by the media.

I do try to read most links and the doom and gloom of the reporting would lead you to believe the apocalypse was just around the corner. They would have done well and got a following about 2000 years ago icon_lol.gif

Well many people do believe that what she says in the article as fact.

Well she gets paid shit loads of money for writing that, and the fecking know all media haters on here, get paid fuck all for their comments.

Who are the clever ones and who are the numpties?

With people out there who think this is bollocks, what world do you actually live in, as it certainly is not Earth.

Do these thinkers ever actually go outside their front doors ffs?

As you say blue most of us see through the deceits....the problem is many either can't or wont, choosing instead to believe everything the media feeds them as absolute truth.Even those who do choose to operate a critical analysis of the media are affected...the steady drip of malicious bile pushes the political agenda further and further to the right, thus the rise of the B.N.P. ....the media are fully aware of this,it is deliberate policy on behalf of those who would have us return to a forelock tugging know your place society...who benefits ?? who's tax evading, abuses of power, and borderline criminal activities go unreported ?We are being lied to,our society is being engineered behind our backs, and we quote the evil bastards to each other as evidence that we're going to hell.Breathe deeply ....that smell is the shit that's raining down on us all.

No conspiracy theory....just coincidence that a small number of very rich, frighteningly powerful people have decided that abuse of the media is the way to go.Rapacious self interest....ah the joys of western capitalist democracy

I've met quite a few journalists in my professional life.

My daughter recently did her work experience in the press office of the house of commons.

She turned to me and said---dad these journalists they are all as thick as pig shit. I had to agree that in my experience this was quite correct.

But this is nothing new and is history repeating, we just have to make sure we never allow any extreme of either side get too powerful

I understand what you say, but just as the journalist embellished her view to make it sell, so have you icon_wink.gif

The repeated insinuation that I have nothing is both tiresome and incorrect.....if you have no arguement continue to troll

Easy to say, smoking your big fat cigar wearing your lah de dah suits with the custom pocket on the sleeve for your enormous brain, and charming birds out of trees with your wit and humour.

Blue it is something new....the rise of the right has happened before,true...the fact that it is fuelled by the dishonesty of the print media is a new and alarming turn of events. There is, in this country at least, a long and admirable history of honesty and altruism in our journalism (from whatever side of the political spectrum)Our newspapers in the past have been remarkable in their commitment to the public interest, the abandonment of this in favour of service to their paymasters would have the press barons and editors of old turning in their graves

Is it really the service of their paymaster or just sensationalising things to sell papers, soon papers could well be a thing of the past, or find themselves in a different role, as they loose ground to the Internet.
