What I now find intriguing is the fact the the LibDems are now rattling the sabre and making all sorts of their usual whimpering noises.

They asked for the Referendum. They got what they asked for and the result was as predicted and the money used to provide it could have been put to better use icon_eek.gif

Like it or lump it, the LibDems are in Government in a coalition. They didn't win the election and whilst they can certainly have a say and some influence about the formulation of future Government policy, their own ill-thought out policies are not (nor will they ever be) flavour of the decade with the electorate.

They should stop their moaning and just be grateful for the fact they are on the inside looking out for once, not the other way about.

My vie is that the referendum was designed to fail with total lack of enthusiastic debate or canvassing plus including it along with local elections bollox - I think its a shame personally as it would of been a chance for those who think that British politics is a waste of time to actually do something, however small, to show how much it pisses them off. AV wouldn't of been the end of the world and certainly wouldn't of been detrimental compared to the shit we take now. An opportunity has been lost to do something about it, even if something else would of had to take its place later on. Ah well another generation until any possibility of change occurs i guess.

You reckon? Apart from the referendum, which the Cons made damned sure they 'won', the LibDems have gained nothing but the derision and disgust of their former supporters. That and a collective brown nose from sucking up to their masters who are actually in power. Clegg is Cameron's fag.
