Meaty where can i get a simple free download to enable me to animate my photos..?

not sure, i've got everything i need cos of work. if you can get the dreamweaver suite, fireworks is excellent. but its not free, legally

Just been tinkering about resizing a picture that was a bit large and therefore made the whole page of that thread difficult to follow.

So, if you want to put a large picture on the page, but not have it spilling over the sides, follow M2PU's advice on adding a picture into your comment and add this to the end of the address "width="200pt"> before you close the brackets. ( one of these " >" or one of these " ] " )

You'll end up with something like this if you use 200pt:

Of course you can make it a bit bigger by changing 200pt to 300pt and you get this :

If you haven't followed that explaination. Press the quote button in the corner and look at the code you'll see... copy that and substitute the address of your picture for the one used here...

Microsoft GIF animator......................

It is very old now, and no longer available free from Microsoft, cos they have bundled it with other products, but if you do a google for it you'll find sites where you can still (legally download it).

Limited cos you will need to take multiple photos and join them all together but it does work, and you can adjust the timing of your animations

We're a bit embarrased now!

Your advice to us was how to post pictures in Forums, that is useful but not what we wanted unfortunately.

I want to be able to update our ad (which has no picture) by clicking on modify and then adding a pic (the one which now everyone can see anyway!) - but when I copy the photobucket link into the browse section of modify ad, it simply tells me "invalid file extension, this is not a .jpg file"

Please can you help - I'm on the verge of launching the computer out of the window.

Sorry if I have offended anyone with the naughty pic!

you don't need to host it in photobucket for the ads, just use the browse button and find it on your harddrive. you will need to reduce the size so it's under 20Kb (i think), which i think i've included in the guide. if you have a problem PM me and i'll resize the one you've already entertained us with
(if the mods havn't deleted it )

It's 50k for the adverts, the 20k limit is just for avatars.

It sounds like the version in imageshack is not a GIF file. Right-click on the file within imageshack to check the properties - does it end ".gif" or something else like ".jpg"?

Only .GIF files will animate on here as you can't upload movie files as avatars.
