registered with image shack, got a picture in the brose box, then didnt know where to go with it or how to move it...

Nearly there then!

You just need to copy the "Hotlink for Forums" link into your posting. Look for the box just under your picture on the imageshack page you see when you've uploaded it, it will have a big long string of code in it similar to this:

[URL=http://imageshack.us][IMG]http://img123.imageshack.us/img123/45/yourfilename.jpg[/IMG][/URL] and it will have "Hotlink for Forums" written after it.

You need to select that line of stuff (but not the "Hotlink for Forums" text after it) and copy it into your post on SH. If you are happy using cut and paste, that should be easy, but I can explain in more detail if needed.

Once again, it's hard to help as you haven't said what the problem is!

What exactly isn't working, and what exctly does any error message you get say?

all i want is too put some pictures on our add,
got onto inageshack got pictures in frame dont know what to do from then.
dont really now what cutting and pasting is can highlight the strip of text (dont know what strip)
then dont now where to put them.

You say "add".. if you are trying to get pics onto your advert, then all you need is the pic on your computer, it must be under 50kb. And follow the instructions on page 2 under tomanddaisy's big picture..

If you are still up and your computer is still intact... explain here EXACTLY what you are trying to do, and what you have done.. and if you are trying to get a pic on your advert or into the text box here...

thats what it wont do, every time i put them into add they are too big...

FOR THE FORUMS:

You need the strip of text that has "Hotlink for Forums" written after it, it's just under your picture on the imageshack page, as I said before.

Once you have highlighted it, click your right mouse button and choose 'copy' from the menu that appears.

Now go to Swinging Heaven, and start writing the mesage you want to put the picture into. Right click in that messsage, while you are writing it and choose 'paste' from the menu that appears.

Now your message should have the strip of text in it that you got from image shack.

That's all there is to it, when you press 'submit', that strip of text will magically be replaced with the picture!

OK... looks like you are trying to upload a pic that is too big into your advert.. Find any old pic you have on your computer that IS under 50kb.... put the cursor, the mouse-arrow thingy over the pic when you have it on your "my pictures" bit. It should show the size of the pic in kb. You can delete the pic afterwards, so don't worry what it is, just don't use a pic of your friends or family !!!

Follow the instructions, and see if it works. If not come back here... we'll crack it...

it's not funny been trying this since about 6.00
anyone want to do then for me before i smash this comptuter up.....

It's not difficult.. follow the advice, honest, you'll kick yerself when you realise what tiny error you are making.

Now, have you tried loading a pic that is under 50kb? Does it work? Are you trying to load to the Adverts section, or a picture here, in the forum.

You have to answer some questions so we know what you are going on about. Tell us and we'll work it out.

Right I'm in complete thicko mode and seeing as this is a very helpful thread I'd like to ask for some help!

I've done it before but can't remember for the life of me how to do it:

I want to link my ad to my signature without the whole url showing.... how do I do it?

I just want it to say, "Here's my ad" or something as a link....

The BBCode [url] function lets you do this, by putting the web address in the first part, so for your example the code would be:
