We dont want this community to poisoned by a few bad apples so if you want to be a bad apple please pack up before you are asked to leave. If you have constructive points them bring them up for the new build!.
Way to win the support of the
community Martin
Please try to remember that this has all come as a huge shock to us all. Until yesterday the mods had no idea of what was happening. Until approx 10am, neither did any of the Ops, and even then they hadn't been told formally. We then got an announcement just before 11am, and the rest of the membership found out at 1.30pm....... or whenever they logged in after that.
We've always been told - and always believed - that this site was and would stay as a free site. Yes, I know you're saying that
we won't have to pay for our membership, at least for the first year, but the whole concept of the site has suddenly taken a massive shift and it's going to take time for people to get used to that. Calling shocked people "bad apples" and hinting at blanket bans isn't going to win you the support of too many people, and while you may not think we're that important in the grand scheme of things, we
are a community.
Just think of yourself as a developer who suddenly arrives in a village and tells the inhabitants that he's about to change everything. You may think that your improvements are for the good of the village, but the villagers have lived there for a long time and they like things as they are. Most will kick up a fuss in the fist instance, but given time and good explanations, chances are they'll come round to the idea. If not, they'll probably move out of their own accord. Threatening evictions to those who complain is not really the way to get the rest of the village onside is it?
