Well, I'm sold. I assume the mods and ops will be paid and act in a shareholder sort of role in terms of any money they receive etc. Don't ask me to clarify, legal and financial stuff is a nightmare icon_rolleyes.gif

Martin, Elliot, St3v3 etc, don't worry about the negative things people say on here, but you do have to be wary of what you say as they'll pick enough holes to make it swiss cheese. The rest of you, ownership has changed. We have no real right to dictate what they should and shouldn't do. As we tell all complainers, "if you don't like it... sod off" (although I'm not quoting the exact words). Mark has sold the site, if you scare or force the new owners away then the only people to lose out is yourselves.

Stuff you will not see

1. The slow picture loading
2. The site loading problems
3. A new MOD and OPS area filled with anything that will make their lives easier
4. New hosting arrangements to ensure that the site is backed up regularly
5. Us dealing with all the mods and oops

i hope these were ment to be under a different title because im sure we would prefer to see the bits i have in italics rather than not see them

Thanks for all of your support

Thanks for all of the constructive PMs that have been sent to me, I will work my way through them now!!.

You cant please everyone all of the time, I dont think that all the negativity on this forum is helping things here. These changes are happening, no one will force you to stay here, perhaps we should start on the positives now as this is just not going anywhere at all.

Its happened, come to terms with it and either wait and see what happens or pack your bags. One thing is for sure the site will change as I have described, I have chcked and negativeswingers.com is available for those who want to pack.

Its time that we allowed the constructive and supportive in this community to be publicly heard.

The Mods and OOPS have done a great job with this site so far!!!, We want them involved in its future, we want there voice and their views. There will be a munch at our office for them in the next few weeks to work out the details.

Martin

Shows how little you know about the site, Martin, because a "munch" is open to all members and you can't exclude anyone.....only "newbies" make the mistake of calling a social a munch. And seeing as you know so little about us, I do presume you'll all only be wearing a towel until the real fun and frolics kick off??

Have you asked Ice Pie to make the badges for the munch? As I'd love to see those.... perhaps I can swap mine with yours.... the after munch should be fun, that's when it gets really hardcore...

doh.gif I forgot the sandwich

oh yeah.. I'd like to think you'll improve the site.

But i don't think you can. icon_biggrin.gif

prove me wrong...

Thanks Osmosis, lets get on with this rather than just being negative, there is no going back now change is on the cards one way or another.

We dont want this community to poisoned by a few bad apples so please wait to see what we do before assuming the worst. If you have constructive points them bring them up for the new build!.

WE built this community so give us some time to get used to YOU.... because as far as I can see it is a free site being taken over by grubby profiteers who have no interest in our lives except to make a profit. Any other newbie who showed such disrespect would be given very short shrift.... and rightly so.

It is day one. Bite it and see what happens. I know I am.

Way to win the support of the community Martin icon_rolleyes.gif

Please try to remember that this has all come as a huge shock to us all. Until yesterday the mods had no idea of what was happening. Until approx 10am, neither did any of the Ops, and even then they hadn't been told formally. We then got an announcement just before 11am, and the rest of the membership found out at 1.30pm....... or whenever they logged in after that.

We've always been told - and always believed - that this site was and would stay as a free site. Yes, I know you're saying that we won't have to pay for our membership, at least for the first year, but the whole concept of the site has suddenly taken a massive shift and it's going to take time for people to get used to that. Calling shocked people "bad apples" and hinting at blanket bans isn't going to win you the support of too many people, and while you may not think we're that important in the grand scheme of things, we are a community.

Just think of yourself as a developer who suddenly arrives in a village and tells the inhabitants that he's about to change everything. You may think that your improvements are for the good of the village, but the villagers have lived there for a long time and they like things as they are. Most will kick up a fuss in the fist instance, but given time and good explanations, chances are they'll come round to the idea. If not, they'll probably move out of their own accord. Threatening evictions to those who complain is not really the way to get the rest of the village onside is it?

We will not take the kind of crap that some of you are throwing around at the moment, you are not being fair on other members of this community. You are deliberately trying to be nasty towards us looking at your footer.

Come on Martin

What you are seeing, as in Posties footer etc, is the way this community exists, sacarsm, mickey taking etc. Its not meant in a nasty way, just part of the banter / humour of the site.

I appreciate you have to look after your investment in a way you see fit, but your not going to win friends and influence people, by not understanding that part of how the site works. Postie is a popular member here icon_biggrin.gif

Martin........ Come on in and a welcome to you, but do us all a favour, leave your jack boots at the door and talk to us, not AT us. I am sure that many will welcome the facilities that you say are going to be on offer, but christ man, do you think it would be humanly possible to run any more roughshod across our community ?
If it is your intention to drive every man and woman from this site and start totally afresh, from scratch with 0 customers, then you are undoubtedly doing a fine job. On the other hand, if as I believe, you do want people to remain, not just for a free year but for many others after that, then you really do need to ease of the gas a little and talk to people, not threaten them.

I hate ringtones. I don't even have a mobile phone...

If I am a bad apple then so be it. Nice to be told by the new boss on day one. But believe it or not, even though i hate that the ethos of this site has been ripped out for profit, I hope this community carries on.

You Lording it though isn't going to make you popular.

And a point of clarification. What isn't allowed in signatures now?
