Pandora, kissed by Apollo
tempted, opens the box
too late, temptation stated.

"We had Fun"

In the days when we had nothing
    And the rent was overdue,
    We'd never ever worry
And we'd always see it through,
We didn't mind the hard times
We just said 'I love you'
In the days when we had nothing - we had fun.

But now the mortgage don't get smaller
And the rates are on the rise,
    The bills come every morning
And I find to my surprise,
That with a house, a car, a fridge, a bar
    And all that money buys
In the days when we had nothing - we had fun.

In the days when we had nothing
But the dreams we knew we shared,
There were empty shelves and old tin cans
    But niether of us cared,
We said we can't, knew we shouldn't
    Then we went and dared
In the days when we had nothing - we had fun.

In the days when we had nothing
    We had everything and more,
We had all the years ahead
And there were years ahead galore,
But it's taken all those years for me
    To find what living's for,
Let's forget that we've got somthing - and have fun.

A bit of a minger.
I took her to Chicago,
To see Jerry Springer

When the summer was hot Pandora cast down her gown.
Golden Apollo kissed her in full.
Did she open her box?

Then too late full of remorse.
She searches for wise doctors.
With skilled hands they excise perverted flesh.

Still she worships Golden Apollo.
Now anointed in holy balm.
She takes his blessings in moderation.

Remember the sun tan cream.

In this case someone liked the sun 'Golden Apollo'. They were tempted to stay out too long and got sunburn, then cancer 'perverted flesh'. The doctors have operated and given good advice. Now he spends less time in the sun and uses sun block 'holy balm'

I have just been told they have the all clear.

Merely intending one clandestine peep,
And as she lifted, monsters of the id
Slowly began arising from their sleep.
Cruelty flew out over less wakeful beasts,
Heedless of tortured screams rising from Hell;
Diseases followed, with unholy priests
And lowly demons, sprung from Satan's well.
They came with noisy, flapping leathern wings,
With coils of questing tendrils, seeking prey,
All of the most unsavoury of things
Crawled, flew or slithered to the light of day.
It seemed that all was lost to evil's shame,
Until hope ventured out, to speak her name.

Hi, yes I'm sure i've seen this film! Wasn't it Jason and the Argonauts?? icon_lol.gif
And we all live in hope in these troubled times....

A candle flickers in the darkness casting a shadow on the wall.
Is that the ghost of you beside me?
I still smell you on the pillow, still see your face as you lay sleeping and feel your breath on my skin.
I miss you there

You’ll never fumigate the demons
No matter how much you smoke
So just say you love me
Three good reasons
And I’ll throw you the rope

You don’t need it
Cos you are the survivor
Of more than one life
And you’re the only lover I had
Who ever slept with a knife
But you’re my Judy Garland
Oh Just like me you’ve never really had a home
But I’m not Tony Hancock baby
Until the dawn
And you see I’ve brought you flowers
All collected from the Old Vic Stage
Well I’ve been sitting here for hour’s baby
Just chasing these words
Across the page
Cos you’re my Waterloo
I’ll be your Gypsy Lane
I’m so glad we know just what to do
And exactly who’s to blame
TO A SPECIAL SOMEONE

A Lyn
From where I slept in rolling hills with peeks so high
I desended to find water.
Amide wide grassy plains with morning dew
I found a steep valley.
There I drank my fill of sweet water
then immersed myself to bath.
At last I had to march away
from that sweet watered valley.

There are clearly some very talented poets in here, loved reading through all 23 pages icon_smile.gif

One of my efforts.... not sure it is poetry in it's true sense but here you go...

How you will paint me with a myriad of sensations,
From a palette of sensual touches,
Bringing me to life with the brushstrokes of your embrace,
Definition to my intangible spirit; adding texture with your caress,
Depth with the impression of your body pressed close to mine,
You will capture the colours, the hues of my soul,
Which only truly exists when touched...

I am so cold, so blue, so sad, so blue
Your touch must be blue

In a baby castle high up in the sky
My babies play with Angel toys
That money can not buy
Who am I to wish them back into this world of strife
No, play on my babies, you have eternal life

At night while all are sleeping
And sleep forsakes my eyes
I hear their tiny footsteps
come running to my side
Their little hands caress me, so tenderly and sweet
I breath a prayer and close my eyes and embrace them in my sleep

Now I have a treasure
that I rate above all other
I have known true glory
I am still their mother
