Leo Marks, 1920.

The life that Ihave
Is all that Ihave
And the life that I have is yours

The love thatI have
of the life that I have
Is yours and yours and yours

A sleep Ishall have
A rest I shall have
Yet death will be but a pause

For the peace of my years
In the long green grass
Will be yours and yours and yours

To my westy from his better half.

I've always had a fondness for this poem

You were my little baby girl
And I knew all your fears
Such joy to hold you in my arms
And kiss away your tears
But now you're gone
There's only pain
And nothing I can do
And I don't want to live this life
If I can't live for you

This one is the wedding vows from one of my favourite episodes of the best sitcom in the world Will & Grace (if anyone would like to dispute my claim then it'll be me and them with swords at dawn duel.gif) This little extract moved me and helped me patch up a problem i had with a loved one at the time.

When I'm feeling like there's no love coming to me...
And I have no love to give...
When I'm feeling separated from the world...
And cut off from myself...
When I'm feeling annoyed by every little thing...
Because I'm not getting what I want...
I'll remember that there is an infinite amount of love available to me.
And I'll see it in you.
I'll remember that I am complete within myself...
So I'll never have to look to you to complete me.
And most of all, I'll remember that everything I really need I already have, and whatever I don't have will come to me when I'm ready to receive it

There is only one rosebud
left in the world.

With asmazement they
watch to see if it was going to bloom.
Wjith sorrow in there heart the people scream for fairness.

the world is taken over by greed, obsession and selfishness.
Where did the compassion and the love go.
Is as when the leaf fall in the autumn and give a heartbreaking call.
Our childrens future lays in the hands of powerfull people.
Who falls down in the line.
we have to change to give the world a chance.

This isn't aimed at any one person in here - though some of you will recognise different bits that make sense from on/off forum comments - it's more aimed at the forum as a whole.

It rather cheekily wrote itself (it never even asked me first !) about 10mins ago and just deserved to be on here somewhere as it didn't really fit in any other thread.

Maybe, to aid others in the same dilemma, this could become a "sticky" poetry thread for original SH related works ? {subtle hint}

It'll build itself into a nice collection as theres plenty of gems written by people all round the cafe on post-it notes already. Maybe just the works themselves clear of other posts ?

Just a suggestion, of course !

To write I try and shall do more,
Stories and words of rhyme,
Ramblings enthused on subjects mixed,
Against brevity a crime.

I'm no star with music,
You'd not think my tastes too great,
Where playing of the notes concerned,
Below amateur I'd rate.

My use of chalk or brush and oil,
Is naught to make you smile,
Attempts to play with lumps of clay,
A task just not worthwhile.

Language tricks and usage tried,
A love of mine all told,
Flys past to land in barren ground,
And leave it's target cold.

What do I hold that marks me out,
From any other soul ?
What glue of magical effect,
Constrains to keep me whole ?

All I have is all I am,
No glitter strewn around,
Hugs and smiles sent freely out,
My willingness unbound.

So if you get to know me,
Then I hope you'll see my worth,
Born out of SH madness,
A friendship given birth.

Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half-light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet,
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams

IF WE COULD HAVE YOU BACK.....

If we could have you back for just one day
There would be so many things we would like to say
If we could just be with you for one whole day
To have you close and know that you really are Okay.

If we had known that you would be gone forever
If we had known all those ties were going to be severed
If we had known the pain, the loss, and the ache
If we had known the difference without you would make.

In the darkness you slipped away from us all,
Now it's just your memories that we have to recall,
They say that parting is such sweet sorrow,
But it's the longing, the wondering, and how to cope with tomorrow

They say that grieving a child is the very worst
Cause life's plan is that the parents should go first.
Now all we have are memories, the good times that we had,
We spend so much time in tears, and pain and feeling sad,

So if we could have you back for just one day,
You could let us know, how to cope until that judgment day,
When we'll be together as a family once again,
When we'll all be happy and free from all this pain.

Oh! It’s so hard to live when your child has to die,
Then we spend our lifetime trying to say Goodbye!

Glorious cherry blossom
Deep the petals
when the tree is beaten.

To some 'no' is the hardest word,
it brings so much pain.
... but better on time
than later.

This is me for forever
One of the lost ones
The one without a name
Without an honest heart
as compass

This is me for forever
One without a name
These lines the last endeavor
To find the missing lifeline

Oh how I wish
For soothing rain
All I wish is to dream again
My loving heart
Lost in the dark
For hope I'd give my eveything

My flower, withered between
The pages 2 and 3
The once and forever bloom
gone with my sins

Walk the dark path
Sleep with angels
Call the past for help
Touch me with your love
And reveal to me my true name

Oh how I wish
For soothing rain
All I wish is to dream again
My loving heart
Lost in the dark
For hope I'd give my eveything
Oh, how I wish
For soothing rain
Oh how I wish to dream again
Once and for all
And all for once

To no one in particular.

In that forgotten part of town
Where wasted hopes and dreams abound,
A wrinkled man with life near end,
In hopes to have at least one friend,
Fashioned bits of wood and things
And made a dummy run by strings.

He sat alone for hours on end,
Conversing with his only friend
And found delight within the fact
That he controlled it's every act.
He told it how he never had
A chance, since all his luck was bad
Although he'd tried so to succeed -
The dummy nodded and agreed.

And how his journeys in romance
Had never given him a chance,
And wasn't it a crying shame
That he was always held to blame
When everyone knew, oh so well,
That life is but a living Hell,
Controlled by lust and power and greed?
The dummy nodded and agreed.

With patience that would rival saints,
That dummy sat through all complaints
And, with each little expert tug,
He'd droop his head or bow or shrug
And give some comfort to the man
Who held his lifelines in his hand
And helped to fill a lonely need
When he just nodded and agreed.

Senility increased with time
As did the old man's pantomime,
And feverish fingers pulled with glee
The dummy's dance of misery.
They never left each other's side
Until the day both stopped and died.
We found them lying, hand in hand,
The dummy - and his wooden friend.

Many years ago Offa had a dyke on the hills of Wales
Many men stood stiff and tall looking at movement on the hills of Wales.
Good men picked up their weapons on the hills of Wales.
Alas poor Offa has pasted on from the hills of Wales.
Time and age have round that dyke on the hills of Wales.
Yet, still men and women walk on the hills of Wales.
To take their pleasure at that mighty cut on the hills of Wales.

When the storm is rough;
And the going get tough.

When you're buried in pain;
All your efforts are in vain.

When all odds you meet;
And your friends retreat.

When you're broken in tears;
In despair and in fears.

When you lose - inspite of your best;
Toiling hard - no sleep - no rest.

Utterly confused - knowing not what's right;
Not a single miracle is in sight.

Shattered dreams - wounded thought;
Failing strength 'n' hope is lost.

You can carry on with firm Determination;
A smile - a touch - is a consolation.

All you need is just a bit of Inspiration
