We went to the wedding of some very good swinging friends last year, a very nice family do ( "Where do you know my daughter from?" asked the brides mother.... omg... I can't say "From the tonsils to the fallopian tubes!" can I? ) and were on strict orders to behave lol... It was a lovely day, a wonderful service and meal, followed by an evening of social drinking and dancing. Those who have met us will know that Mrs Devious loves to dance, so she was up there all night. Just as our frineds got up on the floor to join in after circulating for a while, joining Jo on the dance floor, the record changed and they were dancing together to the strains of.....
"We'll be dancing, swinging and swaying....so come on over"
I've finally found someone b Barbra Striesand & Bryan Adams to come into
i will always love you by Dolly Parton as we signed the register
As we left ... Bruce Hornsby & the range .. the way it is and Nillson Without you.
We had Reo Speedwagon "Can't fight this feeling" when I walked down the aisle and then we had Savage Garden "Truly Madly Deeply" and Ronan Keating "When You Say Nothing At All".
Then later in the evening we had Robbie "She's The One"
Still Remains by Stone Temple pilots - at the Registry office
Lets stay together by Al Green - Walking back up the aisle
Too good to be true by Englebert humperdink(!) - for our first dance
Also had planned to have the reservior dogs tune for him coming into the venue, and she's a lady by Tom Jones for her coming up the aisle, but it was an outdoor venue and it was too loud to hear the music! Bugger!
I've been digging a bit down in the vaults (not far enough down to find the Sarge ), and found a thread worth reviving, especially for Judy's contribution (see page 1 )
Never been married, but I've always had "Devoted To You" by Carly Simon & James Taylor earmarked as my song should I ever find myself going up or down the aisle.
We danced our first dance at our wedding reception to Simply Red, If you dont know me by know, as we had been seeing each other for ten years by then (since school) as it seemed most appropriate for us
We're having traditional music for the "in and out" bits...whilst signing the register the sound of "Oh Fortuna, Rhyddian" will fill the church! I wanted Diirty by Christina aguilera but the Preist said no! .
First dance is Paul Weller, You do something to me. After that anything goes
