Our Pagan Wedding xxx

Hiya folks!
I just wrote a huge post - and then lost it all!!! lol
The long and the short is that we're getting married!! Yay!! biggrin
Early June for the civic/legal one, and late June for our Pagan 'Handfasting'.
Legal one is sorted! :D
Trouble is, both our preferred Priestess and the (second-on-the-list) Priest at the Pagan one, now tell us that they can't do it!!
Is anybody into this stuff? Does anybody here know of anybody?
Four weeks and counting!! lol
Thanks for reading.

Have you thought about asking the preferred priest/priestess if they can recommend anyone else?
Have you tried "yellow pages" in your area? kiss

Won't that be a standard thing anyway though, even if anybody else knows someone?

Maybe?
..but our civil one is only £60 - in the Town Hall, with all the staff, upkeep & stuff!
Do I sound like a cheapskate yet?! lol
We live the simple life!
I guess we'll just keep looking?! smile

I did some looking around when we were going to renew our vows- the Civil service is cheap compared to having something "different." Theres an equation....
Couple in love + Specialist field + Commercial venture = license to print money.
However, you should, I'd imagine, be able to find someone who performs the services out of love for it- rather than lining their pockets. I would hope so anyway
Try joining some Pagan forums

If you google 'boring old farts MCC' and email your enquiry they may be able to help. I do know a couple from there had a Handfasting Ceremony, long shot but you never know.
Also try googling pagan celebrants
I would have suggested asking Edward Woodward, but he seems to have disappeared in a cloud of smake.
seriously though... good luck

A friend of mine went to a pagan ceremony, it was held on a little island off the scotish coast. I think the place had meaning for pagans... she said it was a beautiful cermony.
Hope you find what your looking for, Im afraid Im no help but wish you all the best smile
Thank you anais :roses:

Congratulations and Blessed Be.

I'm sure FB will thank you for making her update her counter.
you seriously think pagan isn`t mumbo jumbo?

No more mumbo jumbo than any other belief system and much less harmful than most others too. The issue isn't paganism though, it's the ignorance and intolerance of anyone disrespecting another's beliefs. No one is asking you to believe anything but good manners would suggest you don't post small-minded, uninformed drivel that is offensive not only to pagans but to anyone with an open mind and respect for others beliefs.
Hope that clarifies my position.
just becauuse someone believes something doesn`t make it true or worthy of my respect, and since you are going for the ad-hominem approach, which doesn`t really further your point, i should point out that there are no records of ancient pagan or druid ceremonies in existence,so they have all been made up by someone.

Well its customary when you dont respect the topic of conversation not to bother getting involved is it not rolleyes .....Or at least to say nothing instead of spouting stuff that could well offend..
To the OP.....
Hope you manage to find what your looking for and it all goes swimmingly....

If they did, I doubt they'd have posted this would they?
Disagreeing with someones beliefs is one thing, going out of your way to insult them is another entirely.
My 17 year old is a Pagan, her best friend a devout Christian. I don't happen to believe in either, but I respect them both just as they respect eachother.
what i respect is their right to believe what they like. i do not have to take what they believe any more seriously than my grandkids belief in santa or the tooth fairy

Of course you don't. But do you sit on the edge of your excited grandchildrens beds on Christmas eve & tell them that Santa is made up?
I very much hope not. However, that's just what you've done to the OP. Why rain on someones parade?

Fair comment.....
Next time one of your grandkids loses a tooth can we all go round and tell them there is no tooth fairy ??
Or can we all go round at Christmas and tell them there is no Santa ???
Or quite possibly we know neither of the above dont exsist but would never dream of knocking their beliefs......
Perhaps their grandparents should do the same.....
they will learn before becoming adults
