Dogging in County Durham

Main dogging sites and directions for County Durham.

Lydgetts North

sjh2020

This is a layby five minutes north of Lydgetts Junction picnic site, on the same access road, as you come from Consett town centre. It is a 55-metre long layby, on the right hand side as you come off the A692 Consett Road, but before the Lydgetts Junction picnic site. You turn off the A692 Consett Road, and head 0.2 miles towards the Lydgetts Junction picnic site, but as the road snakes to the left, the layby is on the right side. It is a big layby, the ground is gravelled and good for vehicles. There is enough parking space for at least twelve to fifteen cars. The parking is shielded from the road by vegetation and you immediately have woods at the rear which are dense and secluded. This, in itself, is a better hookup spot than Lydgett Junction which is five minutes away, because it is not used by the general public, it is more secluded and screened, and most of the visitors are couples, singles, bi, trans, gay, looking for sex. This area never closes, it does not have CCTV and is away from housing in a peaceful area. The exact GPS for this cruisy layby is: 54.841194, -1.850325 You can use the app/website What3Words to find this exact location by entering the following string into their app/website: ///river.survey.matter Or https://w3w.co/river.survey.matter It is a 4 minute drive from Consett town centre. Here are the directions:- 4 min (1.4 miles) via Consett Rd/A692 Fastest route Consett Head north-west on Middle St towards Wesley St 66 ft Turn right onto Wesley St 259 ft Turn right onto Victoria Rd 325 ft Turn right onto Front St 0.1 mi Continue onto Puddlers Corner 0.2 mi At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto Consett Rd/A692 0.7 mi Turn left Destination will be on the right Mornings, afternoons, evenings. It is much busier than the nearby Lydgetts Junction because that area is used by non-doggers yet this area is much more secluded and with immediate access (within 30 seconds of leaving the car) to the woods where the sex takes place. Always be discreet. Respect other users of the area. Take away your sex litter. Police aren't interested provided you be discreet and take away sex litter and look out for each other and be respectful towards non-doggers.

Houghton Cut A690 North from Houghton Le Spring

sjh2020

This is a long layby off the A690 carriageway, north from Houghton-le-Spring towards Sunderland. As you drive up the carriageway from Houghton-le-Spring, you come up the hill and the layby is immediately on the left hand side, located 0.7 mlies from the village. You can also use the footpath alongside the A690 to walk/cycle there. The layby is very long and you could park at least forty cars there. However, no dogging action occurs in the layby, the layby is just for parking. In the middle of the layby, there is a wide and mown footpath between two large boulders which goes up to a dense area of bushes, woods and open areas. It is that area which is for dogging and gay cruising. There are open areas, yet surrounded by bushes which would make this a good area for sunbathing discreetly. The bushes are well used for sex, given the amount of sex litter and lingerie discarded. The layby is located at GPS: 54.849973, -1.464563 What3Words app: ///tile.fried.pulse https://w3w.co/tile.fried.pulse The footpath between the two boulders is easily accessible in the middle of the layby, it is located at GPS: 54.849784, -1.464749 or What3Words ///email.print.races The cruising is at the top of the slope, in the woods and bushes and open areas, located at GPS: 54.849371, -1.465335 Or What3Words: ///hiding.deny.tame https://w3w.co/hiding.deny.tame

Lydgetts Junction Picnic Site

sjh2020

Picnic site and large gravel car park on the outskirts of Consett, County Durham, but away from all housing. The gay cruising/dogging only takes place inside the wood during daylight hours but after dark you can do whatever you like in the car park and I have seen full-on orgies. Park in car park and walk two minutes in a northwesterly direction onto a path which heads deep into the woods. Once in the woods, you can do anything. Lots of gay cruising and dogging, but lots of sex litter. Take this away. Entrance to the woods is 54.84087202162192, -1.8487853632022124 Entrance to the woods is what3words.com/couch.copy.stands Car park is 54.839798495565056, -1.8476281224646083 Car park is what3words.com/glee.fake.milky Mornings, afternoons, evenings, dusk and after dark. Park up and head into the woods on the path which is located two minutes walk northwest of the car park. The path is located at 54.84087202162192, -1.8487853632022124 or what3words.com/couch.copy.stands Path goes deep into a vast woods which has sex dens and lots of activity. Too much sex litter. Don't have sex in the car park unless it's dark. Although surrounded by trees and bushes, you have to go into the woods.
