From experience of having membership in various other sites it's the members with the "This is our site, the newbies are ruining it" opinion that ruin swinger sites. In fact the sites that encourage new members to join are much more fun and usually more successful.
We understand that free access brings in a LOT of idiots and disingenuous people but they usually don't last long. We've found that the swinging community in general has a knack of policing itself.

As things stand there's an option to have a cam feed or not, and to have an audio feed or not. Adjusting the amount of volume that an application provides is usually done on the PC side, not at the server. Given the number of cam feeds there are, multiplied by the number of people watching them, if the server had to try to keep up with multiple variable volume settings too it would probably melt.
That said, I could be talking out of my orifice, so the definitive answer will have to come from the techie blokes who control the smoke and mirrors that is SH. ;-)
The cams already have an audio control button, but it only allows for a choice of 'on' or 'mute' rather than an audible level set by the user.
Not sure myself if it can be done, just saying it is currently impossible to have a cam open if its audio leeches over whatever else I might have open at the time.
tbh most people only listen to one sound source at a time,if the phone rings and im listening to telly or my tunes i mute the tv or hi fi to listen to the person on the phone.i frequently have music on whilst im watching cams,if people on cam have sound on i just mute me multiple sounds whatever the volume just merge to become noise.
