Are you selecting a town first? Otherwise it won't allow you to update your stuff, make sure you select your town, then all the other options will update. (don't forget you can choose to hide your town there too, so don't panic about selecting it!).

Glad you noticed 
Oddly enough we thought about doing a swingers hamper, but decided on the general food one instead :)
The main reason for it is to test our a new mobile billing platform (another part of the business, nothing swinger related) But we thought it would be nice as well. Chances are we are going to lose money on it, so don't start panicing thinking its the start of an Ad spree :)
As said, its not as instrusive and a whole less flashy than the current ads.
Oh and regarding mobile numbers, as already mentioned in the monster thread, we arent into spamming/selling details etc etc, we arent that type of company, were legit :)

Nope, no requirements, simple thing - if your signed up to ads, forum or chatroom at the time we decide to do the switchover, you are automatically a premium member

Sorry for delayed reply, I have been behind the scenes sorting more stuff out, pm’s etc etc.
Ok 5 pages to catch up on, probably by the time I’ve wrote this it will be 8!
I have read ALL of the replies, and taken them on board, I have only replied to those who asked direct questions though, as it was just simply to many If I missed any please re-post.
Froggystyle – Point taken about the 4 different communities, I didn’t realise it was such a split, no doubt there are people that use some/all, and/or drift between. Providing one overall login is a fairly easy thing to do, and will provide us a much better way of keeping track of everything, who knows it may be a good thing in the long run, inviting people to explore more of the site and make the most of it.
Unlimited pics – indeed personal pages, but not everyone can do html, an easy to use personal gallery to manage your pics will be a nice touch.
Video chat room – some people like it, some don’t. We will be providing non cam rooms, as well as private rooms, so thres plenty of scope there to suite everyone.
User profile – a unified page which will become the focal point for most of the new features, fully customisable profiles, public and private galleries etc etc, perhaps it doesn’t seem overly beneficial at the moment, but you may find it quite nice when its up and running.
Distance display etc – just a minor part of the profile this, users will have the option to hide it, it will be based on a postcode, so spelling not important.
Speed – glad you agree with this one, a new high spec server and optimised code will ensure this.
Finally – thanks for you input, and yes we will be asking for suggestions, comments and any input anyone has on the stuff we have planned, it makes good sense to use the wealth of experience from this community.
Osmosis – As above, private galleries with invite only will be a main feature. The chatroom will be flash based (much nicer than java). With the distance comes location search, as the crow flys distance searching etc, as well as a whole load of new search criteria.
meat2pleaseu – There are no legal implications from avatars, sigs, banners etc etc, nor what is said, things will carry on as normal.
well_busty_babe – thanks for the kind words, from a web developers point of view (experienced in swinging and dating sites) I can say there are many things that I think can be added to this site, which will be a benefit to existing members and newbies a like. I think the best thing I can say is wait and see what you think, ill try my hardest not to disappoint.
Tallnhairy – thanks for the kind words, verification will NOT be implemented judging by the reaction on here.
Nallers – the mods role as such will not change, I can understand what you are saying about the dedication to a non profit organisation vs a commercial entity, this is something we will need to think and talk about, and see what happens.

As you say we completely underestimated the community here, and made a right pigs ear of the changeover, its sad that we did not get off to a better start, but I hope we can build on this, I really do.

There we numerous emails and phone calls between Martin, Steve and Mark in the weeks leading up to this. On the 15th and 16th, Mark spent a couple of days in our office briefing us, and had dinner with Martin and Steve. As you know, he is a really nice, genuine bloke, and everything went fine.

Removing of that post was by one of the existing mods, as it says, not to do with me or any of the 'new guys'. Thanks to the mod for that, and well within reason to do so. My reply still stands though, but please can we try to be a little more constuctive with the posts

Mentioning the ringtones was possibly a mistake, because 99% of people now think crazy frog, we are simply an online supplier of ringtones, not creaters of that POS so please don;'t read to much into the ringtone side

As ive said a few times in this thread, we will do everything we can to keep the community alive, and there will be no reason what so ever for it so drift apart. With regards to the webcams and voice - without getting to technical, there are various forms of transport mechinisms that video and audio can take, im afriad you cannot simply state they require ports openining and that represents a threat, you have port 80 open for http, is that a threat? Well the cam and video protocals are no more or no less. Infact, in 99.9% of circimstances, no port changes are required, because the ports are already open for other apps, or because it employs http tunneling should it not get through on the standard ports. Secondly, there will be non video, couples only, and private rooms on the chatroom, this means that any form of privicy can be gained for anyone at any level.
Pay to enter - The years free is a minimum, this could extend further if the site is doing well enough, coupled with the fact that as ive said in the first post you will not be paying for anything you have already - for a free member the facilities will be as they are now on the site.
debz4u - i agree that is what it says, but those are the words of Mark, not ours. Please remember the site and its facilities as you know it will remain free.
wirral_guy - All changes will be cleared with the mods, and major changes aird on the forum. We wont change it without feedback. I will also be adding a 'suggestions' thread on monday, so we can get an idea of what people want to see on SH in the future.
Osmosis - We will see regarding the larger av's. i think we should take a poll on it as some people may get increably annoyed at the longer download times

redgirlmanc - we have no intention into turning this into a standard run of the mill site, you can expect new featurers on the site to help you, not cause problems, that is our aim.

Everyone at our company new what SH was like, and the web presence and community it has. We wouldnt have blindly taken over the site, we spoke to Mark often, and made a decision from there. In reality we have been following SH for around a year (at least) we just didnt venture into the chatroom, forums etc etc.
debbiwebs - i have been on the phone to Mal, and we are having lengthy discussions in the mods and ops areas, i woudl love for all mods to stay and things to carry on as they are, but we cannot force people to stay.

Good question and is the location of the SH database going to be moved? Also, are you intending to spam... ooops... I mean 'contact' all the membership via email about all your other business ventures... we have enough unsolicited commercial email PLEASE don't add to it!
The servers are located in the US, and will remain there. There are plans to move the site to a brand new super high spec server, which will still be in the same rack, so infact the server will be moving around 10 inches downwards
And on the subject of spam, we dont spam, we dont sell info, we dont do popups. :)
