This is really designed to give Mark some more work, as he clearly has too much time on his hands. 
How about if people with local knowledge of a good location provide a map link for it to go with the directions?

Warming the Bed
Two choices:-
1. just scroll down the channels until you see a likely(ish) title, then right click on it and select join channel. You'll usually get a "Message of the day" or MOTD giving more info, if not just watch the chat for a while. Warning: there are some VERY weird ones!
2. do a Google search for irc+swinging+sex+uk or something similar - some of the hits will be to swinging sites such as this one and will give details of the server (eg starchat) and the channel (eg swingingheaven)
You'll get a different list of channels for each server BTW (imagine the server as a tv company like sky or BBC - each have their own list of channels)

Works the other way too - sometimes we men can give the wrong impression because women look for subtle implications in what, to us, is a perfectly straightforward, innuendo free conversation.

IMHO, You're better off downloading an IRC chat program such as mIRC, rather than using a web based one - faster, more versatile and much more choice of rooms. Pick a server from the list - I tend to use either starchat or undernet, then type !list and you'll get a list of (usually) thousands of rooms to pick from. #SwingingHeaven on , for example!

Very topical subject actually, cos just 3 days ago a 15 yr old girl was in a park just half a mile from my flat, by a guy she met in a chatroom, and a recent fantasy of mine involves what I would do to the guy if I caught him. I think you've already seen the snag there - not everyone has the equipment for that to be possible.
My equipment is sadly limited (!)
with no webcam. no digital camera, and a scanner that refuses to function. That's not been a major problem until recently, but so many people ask for a pic and I feel that I must come across as a time waster (I'm not, honest, and neither am I a girl pretending to be a guy!) when I trot out what might well sound like flimsy excuses.

Well, I'm not quite at the "silver fox" stage, although there are definitely some silver threads amongst the brown, but FWIW I would respond favourably to "fancy a shag" or words to that effect. Subtlety doesn't always work with us guys - we're too thick to spot it!

As you say, we all have our kinks, and not everyone approves of them (as a bi?male I can give plenty personal examples of prejudices) but as long as no-one is being hurt or coerced, what harm is being done?

Yes, Jags, I do know what you meant, but it would still mean picking and choosing which laws to apply. For example, AFAIK anal sex remains technically illegal whether m or f , as do many of the "gay" laws such as group sex (even in private) - remember the Bolton 7 case about 5 years ago?
Also, again AFAIK, and necrophilia are not actually illegal!
Much of this will change with the new "sex offences bill"

Hadn't read the story in question, and now I know what's in it have no desire to.
Different people are always going to have different opinions about what is acceptable and what isn't, but given the category title the contents should surely follow Mark's "consenting adults" definition, which would (thankfully) rule out stuff like underage, , "goats" etc.
Mark, maybe a clearer "guidelines" intro instead of
"The bottom line is that this section of the site is here to allow you the free expression to let your minds run wild"
would make people think more about what they write, in terms of the audience they're writing for?
Not sure that Jags's "illegal" criterion would work because of this country's prudish "public decency" (and other) laws...My forthcoming Chapter 2 will definitely break them!

Advance clue to the plot: for the re-enactment we'll need 3 guys, 2 gals and a number of "extras" (and a camera operator of course!) Volunteers will be chosen on a first come (?) first served basis.

Have to agree with all the guys here - real women, in real situations, every time for me. 
Thinking about it, though, I could be biased, hoping that the reverse is also true, and that the ladies will prefer guys like me (average everything, including, errr, size) to a Brad Pitt lookalike with 10" where it hurts.
