For the first few days I couldnt access the beta chat, it said there was a problem uploading my profile. Today i downloaded the chat again and it worked right away.
Couple of suggestions :
Allow font options to stay on until you click them off. Reason being if 3 users have the same colour, but one writes in bold, one in italics and one normal then its easy to distinguish who says what.
Allow the user to choose font size, the large font on there doesn't seem all that big to me, even with my glasses on.
Enable links in chat to the forums and other areas of the site, for example if a member asks about a club they could then be directed straight to the reviews for that club. New members would find this very useful when they are not familiar with the site.
