Personally, as a woman, I tend to talk to guys who I have seen regularly in chat and desirably at the many socials that take place up and down the country, this way people percieve you less as a 'stranger' and more as a friend ( albeit a virtual one)
I have to agree, sometimes it is almost impossible to interject meaningfully in a fast flowing chat room, but persevere... making yourself known and familiar to the persons who frequent the rooms, would, in my very humble opinion, increase your chances.
also my personal preference would call for more pictures and text on your profile, but I appreciate this is not everone's taste.

What a fabulous wonderful weekend we had with some warm friendly crazy folks, thank you to Dean for the organisation and most importantly for his side splitting jokes

Thank you to all those supporters who attended the Liverpool Social on Friday evening, We really really appreciated all your effort and thank you for turning up rather than just putting your name on a list.
There was some confusion at the end regarding confirmations and I can only claim inexperience as my excuse. however the quality of the people who attended was excellent and a great time was had by myself
Prior to Friday I had only met a handful of you so it was wonderful to be able to expand my social circle and I do hope I will meet many of you again soon.

It has come to my attention that half of the people on the list recieved correspondance from me over twenty times
more worrying is the fact that it would appear that half of the people recieved no correspondance at all, this could go some way to explaining the poor confirmations recieved.
I appreciate that to attempt to rectify this on the day of the social is probably too late, however i have mailed all the persons i believe didnt recieve the information and hope they can make some last minute arrangements

I currently have 126 persons on the list and need to increase this number significntly in order for the event to take place, I wold be very grateful if all those certain they are attending would let me know.
