Just returned from weeks in the bush in Africa bringing debt and misery to more Masai huts. While away I got to thinking of how I'm coming across in here. Got told by some after chatting its not how i intend to. So now homecoming going to sort my profile with pics too, use my cam too and see if that gets me better.

I use it as a derogatory term there flower. The fact that i have the experience, which i hope you aren't doubting there, gives me the ability to fill in the bits the media deem too sensitive or gory to show or tell about. If you would like a more detailed and from my experience exact view of what actually goes on over there warts and all. Read the award winning book from rolling stone "Generation Kill". The mini series is also excellent and although based upon US forces it is scarily identical to being on the ground. Humour, madmen and shooting camels with diazepam combo pens on constructed bows and arrows. Ask any soldier who has been there and you will be surprised at how much fun they tell you it is, if you cope, the adrenalin rush is so great you find yourself looking for contact. Great mates are made and lost every tour and that in my experience is why I only have derogatory terms and feelings for Hadjis!

In my experience no apache was up looking for hadjis planting IED's .. they are called in for support if its a bigger contact

I was scared shitless going into my first fire fight! I know im not a coward, back our troops they are doing a fantastic job in a shithole..

About my post ... I didnt mean to offend anyone but typed what I felt at the time after having served up close to know what im talking about. I dont particularly agree with the reasons why we are still their these days but why we entered in both 1991 and after 9/11 seems to be forgotten with some responses to my post.
I dont usually rant at all, but one of the things I have to defend is when I read things that completely ignore the work I and our forces have/are doing to keep all as safe in bed every night as is possible. Someone has to do the dirty work to ensure that happens.
I could have been clearer in my meaning of "3rd world" and "cowards", although it would still be a 3rd world country without any war going on.
When I said "cowards" i simply meant by blowing innocents up, shooting from mosques, using women and children as cover etc etc
But moving on ... I think its fantastic that someone with the position and comforts Harry has at his beckon is man enough to serve .. and also the Queen for sending her grandchild to carry out his duty;.
My attitude has its moments but I am man enough to either explain them and if wrong amend any, I realise that type doesnt always convey the nature of things too.
But hey ... it'd be boring if everyone were the same surely.

The guy has served in the front line, is a qualified Apache attach helicopter pilot and has riches beyond his wildest dreams... he is allowed to have down time and fun, the pics are from a long lens cam through a window and from what goes on in Vegas he was behaving royally...

What if the patch is applied to both A and B sides at the same time without waiting for the obviously negative effect to show on the A .. Think you will find this is called "Human Error" caused by "Human Intervention"
This isn't a comms issue (which you would expect the B side to instantly take over), this was a software issue caused by a patch that was applied without going through the necessary pre production testing. On one system only, but it happened to be on a key system (obviously). It is applied to the servers supplying the service. These are always applied to the B side servers initially then if all is well (Usually not in the same weekend) the service is swung over to the B side and its applied to the A. Don't mistake Comms and Data with Services. Completely different beast within the DC.
These things happen, in my learning years I managed to bring down HBOS cash machines at 1900 on a Friday evening for 3 hours. You will be amazed the power a temporary employee in the right sector in his second month at a large bank wields lol Needless to say I didn't see my 3rd there that time.

I meant only success should be rewarded. Failure as has been rewarded clearly in the past should not. Thats why its called a bonus. Some market traders where I work are on a minimum of 10%, if they have a limit of 10 million and bring in 50 then what is the issue rewarding them their 5 million. Its all relative.
Whats wrong with a large bonus or pay if its deserved. I think success should be rewarded and failure not! Success in whatever industry shouldn't ever be punished by being taxed more than anyone else.
