Hmmm.
Most of the pm's I get are from straight men wanting, funnily enough, access to pictures, and meets. Though I find it a bit odd that someone labelling themselves as 'straight' wants a homosexual experience (not a bi one, as no female is involved) you know what? That's OK. I don't reply because, to be quite honest, if I want a gay experience I can pick up a guy in a bar easily. But whatever - I can fully understand why people don't want a label, and that's fine. It took me long enough to admit to myself that I was actually bi - and to be open about it in my everyday life as it's actually, to me, an important part of what makes me me - I'm queer and proud of it. But I don't force it down anyones throat (unless asked nicely).
The homophobia issue, though, and the anti PC stance that's becoming so prevalent these days, is an important one. Maybe it's because I'm so visually different to the majority that i seem to catch an awful lot of homophobic flak on the streets - and whatever you may think about political correctness gone mad it's difficult to defend direct verbal abuse and violence because of someones percieved sexuality, (or race, or religion or whatever) - that is what is not OK - a gang of teenagers kicking fuck out of somone for being a bit effeminate, f'rexample, is not on at all. That's homophobia, not someone making a silly joke about anal sex - but those silly jokes in the office are kind of in addition to the real nasty shit that can go down if you are openly and visibly queer, (or black, or Indian...) and I suppose that's the real message behind what people now term political correctness - just show some respect for people's feelings.
Hope that's not offended anyone - it's a difficult thing to explain as it's so wrapped up in emotion for people. I actually personally don't care if jokes are made about me, I'd just rather not be put into a coma by a gang of scallies, thanks. Sorry if that's off the topic a bit, but it probably could do with saying. Oh, I know that people will think to themselves, 'if it's really that bad then don't look like that!' - but, well, that's missing the point. The point is, everyone deserves respect, and to feel safe.
House of 1000 Corpses
Hellraiser
Return of the Living Dead
Tricky, Christiansands, on repeat.
That and Rabbit by Chas and Dave as previously pointed out, of course...
The Wicker Man remake was a crime against humanity.
However, they are remaking the classic Plan 9 from Outer Space, which I love for all the wrong reasons, and it's difficult to see how they can possibly ruin it...
It is bad luck for me as it's the first Club Lash I have to miss out on because I have to be up early to take my cat to an early vet appointment after having had to spend 600 quid in emergency treatment. (insurance will pay out most of it, but it's still gone at the moment!)
It's a good job the theme was not inspiring me! Grease! How was I supposed to incorporate vinyl and eyeliner into that look, exactly???
No Q????
To plug the gap, then:
Queen Adreena
's psychiatrist says they are a psychotic deviant, but that doesn't make them a bad person.
Well, to be honest, I like big butts and I cannot lie. So ladies, if the butt is round,
And you want a triple X throw down,
Dial 1-900-GOTHICPUNK
And kick them nasty thoughts
Baby got back!
Is this the right time to bring up my squint fetish?
I have a soft spot for Escape by Rupert Holmes, and Seasons in the Sun by Terry Jacks, and The Gambler by Kenny Rogers. Plenty more.
:}
I shall bow to the fact that you clearly have excellent taste, and therefore so must I :>
I think I agree that It's 'How Soon Is Now', though I have a soft spot for the two note solo in 'Boredom' by The Buzzcocks - mainly because it's the only one I can play accurately myself...
(edit) - great minds, Staggerlee :}
For an album full of covers I'll go with Jeffery Lewis's '12 Crass Songs', because hippy geeks from New York doing sweet and slightly inept acoustic versions of atonal cockney anarcho-punk should not work but they all do, mostly more so than the originals - and I have a weakness for Crass.
Richard Cheese's lovely Swing version of Nine Inch Nail's Closer... :}
There is still lots of intolerence towards homosexuality - I pick up a fair few comments for the way I look and it's all homophobic stuff - and that's in the big cities. It's much much more tolerent in general than it used to be but there are still enough knobheads out there to make life less fun for a lot of people.
As for swinging - I don't think it's more mainstream, just that sites like this don't feel sleazy... now whether that's a good or bad thing is open to interpretation - I kind of like sleaze :>
