I reckon that hardly anyone is totally straight or totally gay. Even then, given the right circumstances, from a fabulously sexy person plus enough wine or a Lost situation of 2 people on a desert island for long enough, I reckon most people will give just about any combination a try.
But there is a continuous spectrum of preferred gender for fun and the vast majority of us fall on that spectrum but away from the extreme ends. Straight, bi, gay are just 3 points on that spectrum and used as handy markers to help people quickly understand someone else's point of view.
Oh, and I reckon the fun spectrum may not be the same as the marriage/partnership spectrum btw.
