Just wondering..........we always read about me/us ads on member's pofile pages. Sometimes even comment on them in main rooms or on comments box on the profile.
Do people think this is an important part of a profile as we think it is.

Much though I love reading a well-filled "About me" section... As has been mentioned before, in the chatrooms the general understanding is that people will not want to take time off their real-time interraction/chat to go read profiles. Also, there's a certain idea/attitude that the here-and-now of chat&cam will let the personality, looks, charm (or whatever) of the chatter shine through, perhaps better and more immediately than one's profile can.
Like you, I also tend to glance at profiles as I chat and use whatever I can find on there to further the conversation but typically only when the chat is slow

For me the "About me" section isn't really for the chatrooms. That's more about striking up some conversation and letting it flow naturally. Though I admit it's nice to have a quick peek at the photos so you can picture who you are chatting with.
It's different if you're looking to meet someone. In that case the "About me" is pretty essential. Not only does it give you an impression of the type of person you might be meeting but it also shows they have gone to the effort to fill out the profile. To many people on here seem to be of the view "Right created an account, got a username, time to start the fornication"
