I may be missing something, I am not the most detail conscious of souls.
The chat room etiquette section regarding the necessity to ask to whisper seems to have disappeared. Am I right to assume that it is no longer necessary to seek permission bearing in mind the new whisper avoidance facilities?
Let me know.
Thanks.
Ben
You are assumed to have read the T&C's before each visit to the chatroom; ignorance is no excuse....
bolt
Ben,
Hadn't changed the other week when we checked redface
Ben,
Spotted the new Setting for Whispers as well ?
So now have Allow all, Authorise, and No whispers (or whatever wording is)
with Authorise being the new setting so that you can allow or deny whispers from a user, a nice enhancement and one that many have been asking about for quite some time.
A few days ago I could find a whisper icon by clicking on the name in the members list on the right of the chat screen. Now it seems only to be available from the name on the left of the chat screen so no whisper if the person hasnt chatted in the last few minutes. Why and where was this notified - I've looked at the chat room rules and cant see anything about it
Update - just discovered it is a result of the inline whisper setting - doh!

Im really liking the new authorise setting, although it is a bit of a pain that you have to set it every time you go into chat

If like me you clear all settings in your browser when you leave chat then yes, you have to reset it each time you log back in. If however you are less security conscious you should find your settings remain

Oh I wasnt aware that I clear all my settings when I leave chat. Maybe I have a security conscious laptop that does it all on its own?? lol
