With a couple of thousand people in chat, there will be people that don't like the new version.
Might be better to explain what you don't like and why though, it would be more helpful for any future builds :thumbup:
I kinda like the beta but don't know for sure because a quick 10 minutes in there is hardly time to get used to the way things are. Time and numbers will tell I suppose confused

I also share your misgivings. The interface is highly unpleasant and lacks intuition.
Also I think it has been driven by the 'need' to create the site in Flash. However a great deal has been lost in basic functionality.

The current room also uses flash, so nothing new there. What functionality has been lost? Can still whisper, view cams, show cams, change rooms, create rooms, view profiles, which is pretty much all you can do in the existing rooms. OK, so currently there are 3 servers, as opposed to the proposed new single server, but what difference would that make if the new server can cope with the user load?
If you want to talk lost functionality, consider the loss of /em and /nick from the old IRC channel - but they were lost a long time ago!

One thing I would like to add is that when all of the bugs are ironed out of beta chat it will be hooked into the existing servers so that there will be 4 chatservers, so people will be able to go between chat 1,2,3 and 4 in pretty much the same way as they go between 1,2 & 3 at the moment so that we can see if any other bugs crop up.
When we are happy that the new version performs as well as it can we will change the other 3 over to the new version and will be running on 4 chat servers or maybe 5 if needed, although in the final version alll of the rooms on all of the servers should appeare in one list to save people moving between servers before selecting rooms.

Any idea when you might be opening Beta again?
I'm not keen on it but I think I need to keep trying it - get used to it, ya know?

Fi, I've just noticed you've got Official Dozy Bint title in your signature....a title I already hold. I believe this gets passed on by the current holder when the situation arises rather than being "liberated" wink

But the same problem would occur if it was a 3 hour warning, beacuse people come in to the room at all different times so there would always be someone who has just came in as the room was shutting!!

Suggestions to solve this one:
- Change the colour of the room name in the room list (e.g. red indicates a room is closing)
- Block the room from accepting new connections so people can't join one that's closing

Key AUP and chatroom T&C items still don't appear as static text in the window border (as far as I can remember) rather than appearing in text that scrolls off the window when typing. Suggest they are moved so they are always prominent.

I also have been experienceing difficultiies with the beta chat, am quite happily camming&chatting to people when all of a suden everything goes white and am not able to get back onto it for about 10mins and it has happened on quite a number of occations
