Bleeuurrgghh chatroom the other night

i hosted a chatroom the other night it's not unusual for me to do this. It is an area specific room (though i did work it out to be about 3000+sq miles in area)<<<(sad). It has what i would call a good hardcore of regulars as do other 'local' rooms. Well last night about 11 0'clock the room went tits up.
I'll do my best to explain. 'Our' room tends to be quite a chatty room with lots of people regularly socialising in and out of chat. We don't tend to have many cam sex shows that go on though we are fortunate in that we do have a few very lovely ladies and a guy or two (Mrs said to put the 'guys' bit in rolleyes

) that sit for the cam and are a grear source of eye candy.
Well it happens that a couple or two and rather attractive lady were on cam she with a nice ass showing. It was 'that' time of night so a lot of people were in giving it the usual original chat crap lines that we all know and love. A few regular users pointed out in chat that this was boring and that most of the people in there and afew on cam were not regulars of the room and certainly not locals.
Things got a little fraught. I as room host hate the idea of kicking people or telling them off publicly in a full room. It tends t antagonise and not help. Though if rules are transgressed i would and do not hesitate to warn request, kick or report to an OP or admin if need be.
However on this occasion nobody was impolite or directly rude though i agree that the way in which the chat went on for ten minutes was indeed not really comfortable and certainly not a lot of fun. I did think at any minute that it was going to 'kick off' but it didn't it quietened down. to this end no one got kicked I took a little harsh words about the room being a bit off but hey i got big shoulders it didn't hurt. if you get me drift.
It was just one of those nights I suppose. In general the room is a very well behaved chatty room, and great fun to be in. Though some regulars find it difficult to handle the roon being taken over by the, what is affectionately (or not) known as knob jockeys and cam wankers making the regular chat nigh on impossible amongst the wandering 11 pm crew dunno

In the end I dumped the room it did get so crap. Anyone else get this?

It happens all the time Lost. Most of the time the regulars can manage to point out the benefits of actually chatting but you still get the odd one or two that are there purely for "wank fodder" dunno

Really bugs me when a room gets like that lost.....you cant even talk around it properly.

Sorry to hear about that Lost, but it does seem to occur quite often at that time of night, I used to put it down to it being pub closing time but I guess I can't say that now the closing times have all changed lol

Normally though I've found that if you just weather it out, they soon get bored and go elsewhere and the room can return to normal.

The above comment really does 'get my goat' I can appreciate that you get a certain amount of knobheads but we can all weed them out! What about the normal people who just because they dont spend all night, every night in one certain room get ignored? Why should you have to come from that specific area to enter the room? Isnt the reason we all on here is to 'meet' people?
There are to many 'clicky' rooms on here as it is, the NW room for instance, and I come from NW !!
God knows Im not a shy person so it must be very daunting for some to enter a room say Hi everyone and get completley ignored! Which happens in these rooms!
If you only want certain people in there then make it private with a password !! That way you only get to chat to your select "billy mates"

I totally agree with you Megasexy, thought it was just me.
There are such things as cars and public transport so there's no reason what so ever why someone from the south wouldn't be interested in meeting someone from the north, and vice versa.
It seems incredible to me that people can be so narrow minded. There was me thinking that we were more broad minded etc. etc., but this sort of behaviour strikes me as being just as bigoted as people who don't understand the swinging scene.
In my view the rooms are open to all and everyone regardless of their postcodes, and if you don't want the 'hoi poloi' to be part of 'your gang' then, I agree with Megasexy, you can always open a private room.
I am shocked and disappointed that this attitude exists, and shocked at my reaction to it too, but this has really upset me.

I have to say the Bristol room is one of the friendliest going. They welcome everyone, wherever they come from when they can......its a great room for newbies to the chat room.
When its get like Lost described above. You cant welcome people when they come in because of all the directing etc etc going on by *others* who just came in because they know a *show* is on! All conversation stops that was going on. The dynamics of the room certainly changes. I go do something else when its like that.... not my cuppa tea!
An if they was passworded?? That would make the room even more cliquey wouldnt it???????????? So you cant win either way!!! Its left open so people from wherever they live can come in.... its not just for those wwho live in the area or surrounds!!!!!!!
And how exactly do you weed the *knob heads* out without kicking them (unless they are breaking rules)????? I'd be interested to hear :smile:
Lost, I think one of the suggestions I would make is say *No Directing* on the room name, that might help a little. I know, Coffee Bar should give a clue but its not explicit enough for some lol

Lost was explaining the scenario. It was just a bad night in chat and sometimes when someone writes a post like Lost's above, its about the frustration of hosting a room when its goes over the top and trying to keep the peace for everyone!!!
All those who have hosted rooms have probably had one of those nights!!!!

When we host a room, we often take a long time chatting and getting ourselves comfortable and the room generally settles down with us
The dick heads get bored and move on.

After the trouble we have taken to fill the room and be in control, this can be a right pain in the arse!
So I`d give lost the benefit of the doubt here. I`m sure he was talking about the people who hijack rooms because they haven`t the intelligence or the wit to start from scratch.
I`m saying no more !! It was saying this kinda stuff that got me banned bloody ages ago ops:

I do think they take great pleasure in doing it though...... its part of the fun for them!

i understand what you mean,
i will be in the devon and cornwall room if im on chat.
there are lots of regulers, alot of whom ive met socially.
we actually chat in a chat room, novel idea it appears to what i call cam crawlers.
someone will come in start a sexual show on cam and thats it every fecking cam crawler sniffs it out.
if they want to do a cam show i dont know why they dont set up a room of their own. that way its not putting the preasure on to the room host.
the cam crawlers are oblivious of other people in the room and carry on with their corney comments.
the room then fills and the regulers cant get in.
i welcome anyone into the room, its not about non locals not being welcome.
its just soooo boring.

I think that Flower has put what I mean far better than i could. I sort of get tied up in the amount of words i use to try and convey a point which sometimes leads to the opposite.
I guess that in my view its great to have cam shows and people wherever they come from in chat. What can be annying is the people who trawl through the rooms just looking for the free porn show (which in itself isnt bad) but the crap chat that goes with it can be irksome.
When the run of the mill friendly chat or flirtatious chat even, goes out of the window for the line after line of hardcore sexual innuendo or suggesting, directing, wishful thinking out loud lol

etc - without pasting a page of this crap into forum it is quite hard to convey what is meant.
I certainly would encourage people from anywhere to use our area room crikey it stretches 200 miles end to end in any case so not realy that local really :smile: having people any people coming into chat gives the room energy which is great.
Guess i was just sharing my thoughts with the forum as i mused over the previous nights to do.
Edited as I just noticed fem4's post and thats about the size of it thanks fem :thumbup:

I see what you mean Lost, and I do sympathise as I find all of those corny comments really boring also.
I like a perv as much as the next man, but the inane comments can be quite tedious, and you're right if you're trying to have an actual chat with someone it can be very difficult.
Don't know what the solution is, unless it can be a chatroom rule. Maybe something along the lines of explicit cam shows should open their own rooms? However people being people I guess it will still be abused.

your welcome lost , i dont normally make much sense, but i knew what i ment and so did you so thats good enough for me, ( see what i mean lol)
the other problem when someone comes in putting on a show, is that those of us who are just on cam so people can see us, then get the cam crawlers whispering or losely directing.
they are carefull sometimes not to direct as such, but its comments like... mmmm it would be great to see fem suck her nipples. ... yeah mate just was i was thinking bet shes got a soaking wet pussy. ...and so on.
then if the room host warns them or has to kick them you get all the cam crawlers throwing abuse.
i know this can be reported, but it gets bloodt tiresome.
the soultion?? = a ignore button.
again i know some will say just ignore them, or the whispers, but when you trying to follow 1-3 convos with your friends its flipping hard when your screen is filling up with numpty comments.
