Ok If you are a single, you can not create, nor can you enter a couples only room. Likewise if you are a couple, you can not enter nor create a singles only room.
I'm confident that the rules will be modified to suit by admin. Enforcement won't be necessary as it would be an automated process. But I'm sure that there will then be people crying over the fact that only one half of couple x is chatting tonight so shouldn't technically be allowed in.
Either that or you'll then see each half of a couple opening their own new "singles" account so that they can then enter the rooms that they can't get into.
My own personal opinion is that I am totally against room segregation of any type. I live in the midlands, but travel all over the country for business. So I often pop into the NE, NW or where ever room and ask for suggestions on hotels, pubs, restaurants.
I've been called into the white chicks for black dicks (or derivitive)chatroom so often to help out I've even been to a couple of their socials. And for those that don't know me well, I don't fit this demographic very well at all.
Strangly enough, I visit the chatrooms to talk to people. Don't really care if they are single, a couple, gay, black, come from Solihull or even likes to stand in cold custard all day long. If there is an interesting topic of conversation, I'll join in, if not.... I move on.

At last some sense. I totally agree with this, that's why it's called a "Chatroom".
When people open specific rooms it's usually meant to indicate the people they wish to play with. However as a chatroom there's nothing to stop them chatting to singles as well. Many friendships have been created this way, and on occassions some singles have been invited to play as well. It is this flexibility and open community that is key to the site.
I do not deny that kentswingers777 may have had a bad experience but this isn't the solution, and bearing in mind some of the comments made about the naming of certain rooms, they seem unaware of what they see before them which seems a little naive as well.
Just to clarify the Chatroom is for everyone. However within this area you can open new rooms and call them what you like. You cannot boot people off without justifiable cause, and if you want exclusivity then there is already the option to open a private room within which you can invite who you like.
In my view this is the most flexible and democratic solution, that already exists, why change it?
Also if, as seems to be the case, the ops are already following along this path then I am disappointed that they did not have the decency to make it publicly known to other members of this site.

I couldn't care less about a couples' only room. It offends me no more or less than the bi rooms or the BBW rooms or the other specific rooms. I still have to meander my way through the huge number of people to find the people that I want to fuck. I apologise for being flippant. If they are able to set the room parameters so that if one has a 'couple' profile then they should also allow anyone else with something specified in their profile eg black, white, tall, short, segregate a room so only those people are allowed to enter. That would be the logical step to make and would mean that it is fair and equal.
bbw, you pay your money and you take your chance and if there are those that wish to segregate themselves then they are not people I am interested in. For me it cuts through the crap a bit quicker.

If this was implemented it would be a fundamental change to the rules and the way the site is managed.

This notion of having an exclusive chatroom is segregation of the worst kind. It also begs the question, if they go ahead with this, will these priviledged couples pay a premium for their own dedicated chatroom? If not will we "the plebs" be entitled to a discount?
This is a vile and disgusting idea. It seems to me that AshaandAlex want the option to open their own little club where they can invite their own friends and exclude everyone else.
Without meaning to offend could I suggest creating your own site, where all the parameters you desire could be set up from scratch. If SH doesn't provide you with all the 'special exclusive features' you desire perhaps SH isn't the right place for you?

They've asked for one thing, not a whole list of things. I also don't like the idea of a 'couples only' room but I'm not going to lose sleep over it, nor am I going to wage a campaign against it. i've got better things to do with my time.

They've asked for one thing, not a whole list of things. I also don't like the idea of a 'couples only' room but I'm not going to lose sleep over it, nor am I going to wage a campaign against it. i've got better things to do with my time.
We're all entitled to our opinions, but let's keep it in context, eh? It's not the end of civilisation as we know it, it's a chatroom!

I think to put it in to context as you say, what BBW is getting at, is this may only one simple request, one small matter but it WILL set a precedent. If this one thing is allowed to happen then you are making it right for all the other permations to happen as well..
People just want to make sure this precedent does not happen. I think they are right in shouting about it, stopping it creeping in by the backdoor. There are a lot of memebers on this site that really do enjoy and use this site all of the time. So what is wrong with them wanting the best for it?

I’m a bit confused how this would work, can someone clarify it for me please.
Is it a fundamental rule change that will allow room openers to remove account types they don’t want? Or is it a software thing that will prevent certain account types gaining access to the room in the first place?
If this was implemented it would be a fundamental change to the rules and the way the site is managed.
Just think, had we not spotted this in the forum we wouldn't have known, and clearly the decision has been made to go ahead with it.

Ah democracy. A fantastic word rule is a major principle of democracy, though many democratic systems do not adhere to this strictly - representative democracy is more common than direct democracy, and minority rights are often protected from what is sometimes called "the tyranny of the majority".
If we are talking about the majority being right, Maybe the vast majority of couples who use the chat rooms, may well want a couples only room. If that was the case, being a democratic site, would you then agree with it?
