Hi all - am new to the site and am desparately trying to get to grip (tee he) with the whole chat room/web cam thing.... is there an idiots guide at all? I know I must sound dim but it is all a little complicated me finks!!

Make sure you don't have your camera software open when in the chatroom. Your camera cannot supply two sources at once!
