Wireless loses connection every once in a while does your msn go of at the same time? (if using both) How often does it happen?
In edit, i didnt read properly how often are you trying to get into chat? have you cleared cache and relevant things?
My Msn connection is ok but sons goes off when he happens everytime i go into chat ok for few seconds then freezes, getting annoying now mad :fuckinghell:

dawnie and myself can both be in chat, using different pc's but on the same wireless connection.
So it IS possible.
There are so many possibilities here. Could be your computer hardware, software, speed / quality of your wifi connection, or even the speed of your broadband connection.
A little more information might help?

As the others have pointed out, it sounds like a connection problem. If at any stage you notice the chat room greys out, you've disconnected from the chat servers.
I mentioned in the other thread that mentioned a problem since moving on a wireless router that the firewall turned on by default can cause problems. To see what settings you have, try logging into the router. Refer back to your router manual for the IP address you need and the username/password to log in.
If this is the problem and you're an advance user, you can set up port forwarding. If you're not sure, try turning the firewall off to see whether things have improved.
Thanks for all help and advice so far ,tried all advice and still the same,we will wait until friends come around and try sort for us
Thanks

OK.... rolleyes
Your computers connect to the internet through a router. This router may have a firewall active. This is a second firewall as I would hope that your own computer also has a firewall. Many people on here use zonealarm from zonelabs as their firewall. It affords adequate protection and its free.
Anyway, providing ALL computers on your network have their own anti virus software AND firewalls, then you can switch off the firewall in the router. To do this you have to access the setup of the router which is probably by typing in the ip address of the router in a web browser window. (firefox / internet explorer...).
Our router settings are only visible once you've entered a user name and password. This information was gladly made available by dialing the far side of the moon and talking to somebody who didn't really speak too much engrish.
The precise way of switching off this firewall will depend on exactly which router you have, the direction of the prevailing wind and the colour of your socks.
Helpful as always

Ty ian , i got it sorted last night from the thread above this one. I couldnt get the ip address cos it had a box asking who my provider is and blueyonder wasnt one of their options so i couldnt get any further. Thankfully prof gave me some ip addys to try and one worked so i'm all sorted xxxxxx
