Why do people enter the chatroom because in my opinion 95% of people have no intention of ever meeting anybody. Granted everybody is different in what persuasion of fun they are after but the majority dont even say hello never mind chat. They must either just sit staring at the screen fantasising or just log on then leave there computer. After all it is a swinging site and if you just want to use the chatroom just to chat about non sexual topics there are plenty of chatrooms on the net to do this. Been on SH nearly 7yrs now and met some great and fun people and had some great times beyond my wildest dreams but find it more and more difficult to get into chat compared to what it used to be never mind meet.
people generally go into the chat rooms...surprise..surprise.....to CHAT. The clue might be in the name. I love the banter and the laughs. In Mids room..we have a social meet at least once every 2 monthes where at least 100 or more attend. There are regular parties inbetween. If people make the effort to join in with banter, come along and meet people at socials, and you will find people make an effort back. As with everything..you get out....what you get in. Personally I love chat...and the banter....its never been better. Any male that goes in Mids room and says hi in general gets totally ignored I know ive been in thee and tried and now only go in to say hi to those that i do know and who will speak. Everyone knows on SH that the Mids room is very cliquey and if you arent in that clique you get totally ignored unless ur a couple or female.

with an attitude like that....thats why. Loads of single guys come along to the midlands socials....you been here 5 years now alan...have you attended ?? I am single guy..I go into room....I chat..I join in banter...I love it. There is a party on saturday...I know of at least 10 single guys from midlands room that are attending...4 of which are new members. Those that make the effort..get the reward !!
Ive been on here nearly 7yrs and no I havent attended any mids meets because you know as well as anyone that I am married and cannot states on my profile that I am married and yes I swing alone without my wifes knowledge and know the rights and wrongs about that. So therefore makes it difficult becuase for obvious reasons cannot go on webcam and I am not available 24/7 for meets. But have always been very genuine and respectful and had some gr8 fun in the past. My initial message was just stating the fact that it is not as easy to get meets as it was when I first joined SH and nobody seems to want to chat to males in the chatrooms no more and unless whispering dont chat at all in most rooms.
hi sorry alan but i dont agree with you about people dont meet....we chat in the mids room most nights and when people come into the room people do say hi .the people we speak to are genuine and they do have meets it just that they dont shout it from the roof tops ...some people who go into the mids room have known each other for a long time so it might seem cliqey to some one else, but if you tryed people are very nice if you give them a chance xxxxx
Maybe people look at your profile and can't be arsed to arrange a meet with a married man who by your own words above can?t meet easily. Why would someone want the hassle of arranging a meet a married man when they can have a choice of hundreds of single ones? In 7 years the site has grown and so has the proportion of single men. You are also 7 years older which means that you are likely to be outside more peoples preferred age bracket. Single men enter rooms expecting everyone to stop chatting to each other and lavish all their attention to them. Most single men also think that every woman there is waiting with knickers round ankles gagging for a shag, hence the stupid comments they make. The chat room is cyber people do not meet in chat rooms, they chat. People use the chat rooms to keep in touch with those they have met and become friends, so the conversations are related to their friendship, hence newbies think that rooms are cliquey. I go in chat rooms and get ignored. I go in mids room and get ignored. I go to socials and get ignored. I go to a pub and get ignored. I don 't expect the regulars to stop chatting to each other and acknowledge me, I expect to get ignored until I become a regular. Reason why mids room seems cliquey is because 95% of the regulars in their meet face to face at socials. When over 100 people regularly get together at socials every couple of months they become close. They attend private parties, go for meals out, and arrange a night on the town, all without SEX. There is a social side to swinging and unless single men accept that and become part of it they will struggle to get noticed.

These two comments seem to contradict themselves. I will agree that rooms can seem to be unwelcoming to newcomers. As an op, I visit rooms that maybe I don't fit in. For example the white fems for balck blokes room (or whatever they choose to call it that day). However I've been back day after day and JOIN IN with the chat and banter. I've been to several of the socials that they've organised. And that's because I take the time and effort and don't just sit there watching the chat flow by hoping upon hope that somebody will strike up a conversation with me. I'll talk to most people about all sorts of subjects. (normally fried egg sarnies), and on the odd occasion I might suggest meeting up with somebody. That normally results in them cancelling their account and leaving the site, so I don't try that too often This site gives back what you put in. It must do, cos I've been here for almost seven years myself, and if it didn't do what it says on the tin, I wouldn't be here.
alan i remember talking to u one day and getting an unpleasnat reply off u hence i dont talk to u anymore I cant understand why anyone would want to meet a guy who openly declares he is married and cheats on his wife that is NOT something to be proud of! I certainly wouldnt want any wife finding my number on your phone. nuff sed

i go into the chat rooms to chat only once have i arranged a meet for sex thru the chat room, that was a single fem and once as a couple most meets come via adverts, lets meet up forum and simple emails i go into the mids room on server 3 and sometimes i get involved in the chat easily but other times no one talks to me, depends whos in there thats the same in all rooms i go in tho ! chatrooms are for chatting and even on a swinging site the chat will frequently be about other subjects
wish i hadnt replied to this thread cus since i did, only 3 people other than gary, chat to me now in the mids room, and only two of them actually has a conversation with me !! i must have broke some rule or be out of favour ... no idea really cus im still the same polite friendly person iv always been in there

I go in the mids room and always get ignored.. but am i bovvered... NO I always ignore single blokes in the chat room..in fact i try ignore most people n just stare at me screen, i find it therapeutic ... :lol: I've never been a social :lol: wot ever floats your boat i surpose Has for been married alan so what :lol: ... sites full of married blokes /women who play about with out other person's consent or knowledge each to there own. ..will always be people on here who will be the judge n jury on your status.... people just like to think there better than you alan .. Dont really know where i stand on the cliquey/outsider thing thats being talked about but i'll talk to anyone in the mids room. I think we can all rock up and say hi to the room and no one acknowledges you once in a while, just not got to take it personal i supppose. Whatever anyones personal situation is, i would have to say that, being judged for what anyone does on this site is a bit like the pot calling the kettle black. Theres always someone out there who thinks they are coming from a more moralistic veiwpoint than someone else. See you in the Mids Bi room guys. Stoke.
