I was in the cd/tv room on chat server 1 on Saturday evening. An op came in and made some announcements about soliciting phone sex, which seemed irrelevant as no-one had been doing that. They then announced that the room would close in 30 seconds and then closed the room down immediately, without even waiting the 30 seconds.
Shouldn't longer notice be given or do ops have something against the cd/tv room?

There are no set time limits for room closures - most of us work to a self regulated 30 second rule of thumb, but if we are busy and have lots of things going on at the same time, we cannot possibly sit and count the seconds down on a timer - it is neither practical or possible in such cases
We could just boot a room without warning if we felt it absolutely necessary - doesn't happen often, but it is something that may be done if appropriate.
30 seconds is actually quite generous - it gives ample time to leave for another room and you will find the new chatrooms will only give a 10 second warning when the host leaves and the room will close automatically.
Having said that, even after posting a 30 second warning, by far the majority of room members will completely ignore the warning, carry on chatting as if nothing had happened and then look suprised when they find themselves booted into another room on closure of the one they were in :?
Not suggesting this is the case for you, but it does happen all the time
cv/tv rooms are not treated any differently than other rooms, which I am sure you will find out if you happen to frequent any of them.
Phone requests are not permitted anywhere on the chatroom servers, as set out in the rules.
People may face being banned from the site if they are found to persistantly ask or offer phone sex in chatrooms.
