For member information:-
if you have installed any of the following applications you may experience problems leading to a delay and/or the room crashing on you:
BBC i=player
Channel4 4OD
Sky Bybroadband
These applications contain a P2P application called provided by Kontiki. This application grabs bandwidth but does not release it after use, and therefore the Adobe Shockwave player cannot get the minimum bandwidth it needs to run.
Uninstalling the above players does not de-intall the file. Users will need to remove the kontiki and/or kservice sub directories form their PC. After removal users will need to reboot to remove the application from the system memory. It is also advised to run a search for being installed in other sub-directories and also to search the Windows Registary using to remove entries in the registary.
If you require more information on this invasive application - please search Google for for the full horror story. :!:
Hope this helps..
Our chat now works perfectly smile

Ive had Sky 4 ages, this delay has only happened to me tonite
Chatroom lag does seem to be a very "personal" thing. I've been in full chatrooms and had just one person saying that the lag was several minutes. Nobody else was having the problem and when I was typing the text was appearing in the room as soon as I thumped the return key.
I can and do suffer from lag, so I know it happens, but it can often (and I say often and NOT always) be down to the individual's computer / internet connection.
If our connection drops to 1 Meg - yeah don't you just love btinernet rolleyes then we can get lag. Also how efficient is your pc? Cleared cache? Defragged recently? I even know somebody that has never, ever deleted temporary interet files. It's like trying to drive a car with your handbrake on one notch.
Sorry there is no straight forward answer, but hope the above helps somebody?
