Although a regular contributor to the "Cafe", this is the first time that I have left a message here. I find it difficult to get into the swing (if you forgive the pun) of Chatrooms, just as I do with meeting people I don't know in real life.
Anyone else have views on this, or is it just me confused:
Plim sad :(
........................
It is difficult to become established in the Chatroom! confused :? :?
I think it is similar to having moved house to a new area where you don't know anybody. In those circumstances I would find a pub that I like and keep going in there to make it my local. After a while I would hope to know one or two people and be comfortable letting on to a few others.
It is the same in the chatroom. Find a room you enjoy and just keep going in there. When you feel comfortable with the regulars in there then start chipping in with the chat.
Good luck!! lol

Good advice there Sarge.
I would add to Plimboy: don't be despondent if you make a remark in chat that gets ignored. It happens even to regulars - you just have to keep going. I still don't join in as much as I would like in the room I frequent most regularly, I'm known as one of the quiet ones! But some people still notice when I'm there!
I found out that if you have humor and good manners on your side people go out out their way to talk to you..
But how bilko ever got accepted in here when he doesnt have either!! is beyond me lol

Anything above four feet is beyond you!!! confused :? :? :? :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2:
i only tend to go in the North east room im a regular in there and most people know me but take that safety net away and  i cant join in conversations in other rooms well i cant decide which way to take people etc, and that is exactly what your local room is (even if its not local) lol its a safety net you know people you know their reactions joke heads serious heads etc, just find yourself a room where you enjoy the banter sit back and watch for a while then join in when you feel comfortable
Thanks to all for your help.
Plim biggrin :D
