forum chat unlocked

Hi you two
It was'nt too bad considering! I went on cam to see what it would be like and had only one or two whispers and a couple of comments that I did'nt particularly welcome but otherwise it could have been worse. I definately felt the atmosphere change though and when hosting it will always have it passworded as I know there are others out there that won't go on cam unless its locked. Imagine being in a nice cosy room with some friends and then suddenly getting a stream of people opening the door letting in the draught and then going straight back out again and ignoring the fact you've said hello. Thats what it was like!

I didn't like it as much as I felt open to the wolves (is that even a saying? :dunnu: ) It was nice that others joined in but there did seem there were people coming in for a quick perv, not that any of us would ever do that wink

I can see the benefits of passworded rooms but I/we have always prefered to keep rooms unpassworded as we enjoy to meet new people. I know some drift in and out without saying hello or just check all the cams and if nothing takes their fancy they sod off out again but some join in the banter and thats how you make new friends biggrin

) and it was ok. Not many visitors though and no regs on cam sad

Incidently I clicked on 2 cammers in the unlocked forum room last night and unclicked pretty damn fast as they were playing so anyone coming in and out of the room and seeing those would have got what they came for and would not have been interested in chatting to us all so the room unpassworded will become just like any other room :(

Why? just go in the forum thread and get the password it's quite freely available in there. People who want to chat will bother and people who want to perv cams won't be arsed.
chatroom folk cant come in here and lock a thread and give access to it to chatroom folk only, if that happened the forum would be up in arms.

i often run the NW room and because a lot of couples go on cam in there it gets a lot of people coming in waiting in hope to see some action. If we strarted to password preotect the room we would all become outsiders. Why would you?and outsiders in who's opinion
make sure your room is to be a no directing room, if people comment on whats on cam ( which the cam wankers always do then kick them. As I've said before I have no interest in spending my time repeatedly warning then booting idiots from the room in alot of cases the same ones that keep coming back in just to annoy. I go in to chat and get to know people not spend all night being harrassed.
But please please please dont build the wall back up that has so been so hard for u guys to take down. I had'nt actually noticed any walls, as speaking for myself and Stormy we have loads of chatroom friends and also loads of Forum friends so we are not guilty of having a divide. In fact Glasgowfella, Natthippo, Farmersboy and many others will testify I'm sure that we met them in a chatroom.
so what if people come in It makes the room feel like a bus stationso what if people play on cam ,see my earlier post so what if they watch cams watching isâ€™nt a problem but the whispering and directing IS. seems a bit childish that because this is happening in your room u are gonna put your password up to let your mates and noone else in, Untrue, as I stated earlier the password is freely available!no doubt i will get flamed for this but i say it as i see it. I don't think you will or should be. It's your oppinion and you are entitled like everyone else to have one. :kiss:

Intertesting thread.......
Forum chat was not invented to try and alienate other chat users but simply as a place where forum users felt comfortable chatting to people that they have already interacted with. Also if I remember rightly at the time it was opened a lot of forum users were a bit nervous about using the chatrooms and was set up to help these people feel more comfortable in the chatroom and its certainly worked for me!
With regards to it being locked/unlocked in actual fact I think people would find that if it is left unlocked but well run by the room owner that although initially the chat users who are just after cam action etc would come in......they soon learn that it doesnt go on it the room and so stay out in future and the room would return to pretty much how it was before but allows others chatters that tend not to read the forum come in and actually it becomes a really good room.......this at least is what Sheddy and I expierienced when we used to run the poshshed on a more regular basis......
Saying that I wanted to open a room the other day and rather than have an open room I kept it locked but this was mainly because I feel more comfortable running a locked room as it is easier to control and would only have an open room if Sheddy was around to help out as he's better at it than me!
I don't really know if i'm adding anything here or really what I'm trying to say.......I guess i'm just thinking allowed..........hope it all makes sense! lol

There are plenty of other locked rooms online every evening - the difference is we have no way of finding out their password.
We are a group of friends that wish to chat to each other and feel we can go on webcam without having to justify ourselves to each person who's looking for a sex show or something other than what we are doing etc.
It just so happens that some of us have become friends because we converse in the forums, and now fancy some real-time conversations and putting some faces to names.
Anyone who happens to read the forum chat thread can easily get the password and will be welcomed into the chat room, as you have been.
This is nothing to do with a divide between the forum and the chatroom - unless you want it to be.

how is it not a divide,
someone posted i dont know them i want to chat to my friends
there is a clear divide between forum and chat and if people cant see it they are blind.
i now use forum and chat never used the forum so much since the new chat foum came online, i think it is great.
the other locked rooms are for ????????
couples only is the only viable room, and they usually have a room under it to give password to gen couples, all the other ones are normally "wank rooms" or a one on one is goingon.
keep the room open and extend the hand of friendship all around.
I come into the forum chat and i find u lot very friendly, im not your friend oi dont think but you dont ignore or abuse me in the chatroom.
as i said a vast majority of chatters dont know how to use the forum. this is a fact as i get countless whispers how to open a thread or how do we post a reply, so it is actully not as easy as you think for some people to come and find the forum room password.
so it is a case of" If you cant use the forum you aint coming in"
I am not blind - quite the opposite. If we called the room the red triangle would you perceive there to be a divide between the forum, the 'chatters' and the red triangle gang?
It seems to me that people are hooked on the fact that it's called forum chat - it was a random name picked out of the air, not to exclude anyone, but to give as a point of refference when entering the chatrooms.
I pay to use this site and if I wish to open a room that is passworded because I am not seeking anything but to chat to my 'friends' and I wish to put my face on cam then so be it.
If I never used the forum and called it 'Rebeccas Room' would we be having this discussion? No! I just so happen to use the forum & chat.
As for extending the "hand of friendship all around"... do you go into a pub with a group of friends but still make sure you ask everyone else in the pub to join your group? rolleyes

IN EDIT: After re-reading your last post I wanted to add that I DO go in other rooms quite regularly, it just depends on what I'm seeking.

I am personally going out of my way to bring chat and forum folk together by organising a social(something im head fucked about) to get all "groups" out for drinks and a good time. but if the chatroom is on normal behaviour and the forum is. there will be sides of the room,
a them and us mentality displayed by all.
and the odd few from both sides sat in the middle like outcasts to both sides.

having read this thread i have found it interesting....and i bet some of you are going to be surprised by what i am about to say......
I actually kinda agree with what markandnicky are trying to say......
in the time that we are talking about trying to bridge the divide between the forum and the chatroom...between the munches and the chatroom socials, i think that an oppotunity however small it is, is being lost by locking the room....we have missed a big trick!
what better chance to show off the forums at there best, give a chance for the chatroom to see people they wouldn't normally see online, a chance to show off other parts of the site....
to a person who doesn't know anything about the forum, it is then exclusive because they will never know about this... how are you suppose to enlighten them???
and if i originally used to chatroom, found the forum by mistake..read the thread only to find out some people created a room on the chatoom to keep most chatroomer out... i'd be miffed and would probably think that it was very cliquey....
i am going to admit that is the reason i hardly ever go in there..... because in a sense it is elitist and it isn't part of the person i am, and being honest if it was unlocked I would actually go in more often....
whoever has the keys to the room...just label the room "forum chat - no directing, no whispering" if anyone steps out of line... warn them, then if they do it again kick them... simple as!!!!!
I think they room would actually be busier if it was shown that you could keep a tight rein on a room, than locking it... and i know fire you know about this... because you were a regular in jo's room when people knew that the room owner whoever was in charge wouldn't put up with shit and had a strict set of rules.....

It is your perception that seems childish. I don't believe it's childish to not want to be looked at by complete strangers. When I go into other rooms I don't go on cam. It is my personal choice and I find you insulting.
i know i get grief on here but thats because i have the bottle to voice an opinion that differs to the majority of the forum. and i have also noticed once a thread gets a few posts all the glory hunters come in to help their "mates" out.

but you see over the past 4 days that i have been posting i have recieved numerous mails from members (not just chatter) to say they support me but they wont air there view in public just to be slated by the room and the ops and mods.
where as i will air it, aslong as i dont break the AUP i feel i have a right to air my view, and just because people dont like it dont mean my opinion is wrong or should be dismissed.

i made a ref yesterday about the new ops all being from mids room. then i got called jelous and that i had sour grapes, a chip on my shoulder.

cause i dare raised something that other members thought but didnt have the bottle to say.
I don't want to get dragged into that particular argument but those things were probably said because the way you acted when you didn't get your own way.

Let's just call the room the "New Room" that will be used by people, who a majority of, use the forums on a regular basis.

At the end of the day you are gutted that you got passed over for being a chatroom op and now it seems you are hell bent on ataining some sort of power/status that you believe is your due.
We/I are more than capable of running a room, with or without a password, I am entitled to used the chat system as I wish as long as I do not break any rules.
You still haven't answered my question - how does the room being locked affect you?
